500ml bottle served in a small shaker. Bottle is dated 17.03.2025. Bought it at Kraftpaule a couple days ago, drinking it in a hotel in Hamburg. Serving at a warmer temperature than I like, best I can do is cool it down to tap water temperature.
Pours moderately hazy light amber or dark gold, moderate to large head on the pour that settles into a small even cap, not a lot of active carbonation. Smell is mild banana bread and light menthol. Menthol could also be described as cloves with a little extra mint, maybe.
Taste is grain and wheat, citrus rind and a little banana.
Mouthfeel is smooth, not light but far from clingy. Silky and airy might be good descriptors. Overall, they named it Weizen and describe it as Hopfenweizen, if you want a toned down weizen with elevated hop characteristics, this is a pretty good option. Not a world class beer, but certainly enjoyable.
