Pint pour on draught at the brewery. Served in a Rastal-style IPA glass. It pours a dense, pastel lemon color with a large, creamy, eggnog-colored cap, and copious thick, clinging lacing. An attractive presentation. The smell is mild with notes of white wine, lemon, tangerine, and tropical fruit. Wow, the taste is great: soft grapefruit, tangerine, lime, passion fruit, red berry, and oaty sweetness. The bitterness is subtle and appears only at the finish. It is delicious! - flavorful yet delicate. This ale has a silky, creamy, viscous mouth feel with moderate carbonation, and the 8.2% ABV gives it a lot of substance. Overall, Secret Sliding Door is a very fine DIPA. By adding Riwaka hops to the Citra and Mosaic, the brewer has coaxed a lot of interesting flavors. And the mouth feel is superb.
