very neat modern lager here done with new zealand hops, packed with flavor and quite a bit more going on here than most yellow types are bringing to the table these days, decent little abv on it too for being a drinker, impressive in overall quality and i really dig the recipe. real radiant yellow to golden in the glass with perfect clarity and a puffy white head nearly two inches high and lasting, really well refined and excited looking brew. the aroma on this has some sweetness from the grain, a honey malt type of note just a tad richer than the expected near neutral grain character a lot of these are built on, i like the freshness and the way it keeps this balanced, but its the hops that make this unique both in aroma and in flavor. kiwi fruit, green melon, daffodil, white grape, poached pear, light pine and juniper, and some bitterness through the back end but short of the india pale lager range by some ways. the hops come in waves where its oily and sweet for a flash, then floral and more delicate, and finally fruity with pineapple, green apple, and mango tropicality, just delicious, exceedingly fresh, and with good water chemistry and underlying detail. the carbonation is great, and this does have a bit of body to it, not a total pounder, but i like the weight its at, very spirited and the grain character is needed with all the hops in here. a great mix of varietals in here, well dry hopped but i like it having some bitterness on the swallow too. real solid new school lager!
