Sophisticated and sexy. Exotic Belgian and Vienna malts lay head to toe beneath a unique blend of Loral, Ahtanum and Nelson Sauvin hops which bring passion fruit, honeysuckle, and sauv blanc to the party. Freshly squeezed lemon esters with tantalizing clove and spice notes, and a hint of animalistic funk are driven by the yeast, finishing smooth and dry.

This is the third installment of saison beers I'm reviewing this week from Schussboom. None of them were all that traditional, as all three were above guideline abv, but this one was waaaay bigger. A saison that is Bigfoot strength? And its hopped with Nelson Sauvin? Ok.
Pours similar to a hazy ipa in appearance. Thin white head, cloudy yellow body, head 1/4". The aroma, weird, like it wasn't necessarily overhopped, but hey, these aren't saison hops buddy.
The taste was once again, like a saison meets tripel, but now with these hops, its like a three way between the saison, tripel and hazy ipa styles. At times I liked the flavor, but the alcohol booziness kept this from ever being a saison I would want in typical saison weather. Neat to try, but not looking to bring these home.
Much like the others, I added this beer to this Next Glass owned database. I also generated content in the form of the first ever review of this beer here. Respect Next Glass!
