A dry hopped mixed culture saison. Fermented in stainless with our ever evolving mixed culture then dry hopped with Cascade and Mosaic. Expressive notes of cotton candy bubblegum, pineapple, tangerine, and lemon meringue.

(16 oz can, 5.8% abv, no date/code; purchased cold 4-pack yesterday... poured into my Trillium fat tulip)

L: clear, pale brassy-hued liquid... puts up much foam; tight, white, cratered... head doesn't hold long, receding into a spongy collar... there IS a touch of silty sediment in the last dregs which do cause a misty haze

S: culture character vaguely reminiscent of Orval with some fuzzy yet bold accents of blueberry and lemon/orange... background top note of bright, acidic white wine, verging on sultana... eventually, some almost nutty (almond), cookie-like malt aromas emerge

T: wet-earthy funk and dry hop leaps to the fore, leaving the ultra-dry floor exposed, finishing with some dry white wine preceded by a subtle perfumy spice... more berry and floral hop flavor layers and lingers over each sip... nothing that sour going on (citrus-pithy maybe); nothing dynamic or expressive either, save for maybe the hushed hum of hops and funk...

F: fine, cottony caress of foam; light, lingering bitterness pinged by the delicately tonic alcohol; slight glow taking hold of the palate rear... rather smooth, but short of silky... that light bitterness earlier gets leafier as it goes, stunning even

O: drank one from the can yesterday and I tasted a lot of cottony gym sock, with too much wine and almost bubblegum (clove/spice) dominating; the mixed culture character is very similar to another one their brands I had within the last year or two, however, it seems like its personality has evolved a touch maybe... an auspicious introduction, but it shies away... many intriguing lil elements with this, but overall it drinks like a table beer with measures of young and old Orval woven in (2145)

This beer pour a bright and cloudy yellowish straw, white head, OK retention, minor lacing.

Smell was very spritzy; as in refreshing acidity, a tiny showing of brett but it paired very well with the lemon lime bite.

Taste was similar sour lemon, some minerality; what I liked most was a soft fruitiness that eventually as it warmed kept remind me of bubble gum, like double bouble, very nice.

Drank very easy; nice and light, bright carbonation, a little touch of sour but very soft on the palette after that, low bitterness on the finish.
