Because Roman probably does not have here one of the better wit yeasts, this will limit the nice things I can say about its Looks and Feel.) Yet Roman's Blanche may have spicing in its recipe that is among the top 10%. I'm not going to try to dissect a spice bill, but they clearly do not lean heavily on coriander or citrus as often is found in the lower common denominator wits.
I drank Blanche in part as aperitif (good enough) and in part to accompany Vietnamese Singapore noodles that leaned into cilantro. Roman Blanche was more than flexible enough; it understoodto let the food work its wonders. How Flanders can know that and do that with far away Southeast Asia is beyond my comprehension; but it happened tonight. Dank.
I could be a fan of Roman, but their distribution was difficult in Chicagoland. Now that I'm in Europe, I'm looking forward to fandom. I might even visit their recently renovated tasting room in Belgium.

Very pale cloudy colour, little head with big bubbles that fades quickly. Fresh fruity aroma, with citrusy notes, but weak aroma in fact, as it is the beer. Flavor is dull and in mouth there's a bit of acidity, much less than usual in the style, with a pungent finish and hints of coriander. It's a kind of beer I love on hot summer days, very refreshing, but ... give me my Hoegarden, this one is nothing but refreshing.
