a subtle and beautifully well refined mexican lager, cannot believe we still dont have that as a style option when adding beers here. this is sparkling and golden blonde with peppy carbonation, lovely clarity, a high white head, and ring lacing as it drinks. its simple in the best way, as these should be, its corn forward in nose and taste with slight yellow corn sweetness in the center, the lager yeast has a little bit of a bready thing to it, and whatever hops they include bring subtle hints of light lime, green melon, and cut grass, which round this out perfectly, not bitter at all but with that hop character, clean as can be from what must be extended lagering, their lagers across the board were all super tidy, impressively dialed in, crazy they are still as new as they are, the beer quality is really high here already. the high carbonation carries the flavor, easy cereal malt, identifiable corn, bready but clean lager yeast, and that subtle citrus hop thing late, pleasant, cohesive, simple yet distinctive in a samey style space that has seen an awful lot of mediocre beer in it in recent years, this is excellent, crushable, and seems built for spicy food and all day drinking. if these guys end up going the packaged beer route, this one is going to be a top seller for them. mass appeal mexican lager with craft quality dripping and a lot of personality as they go, real well done.
