these guys are making some excellent beer in their early going here, and this lager is a mass appeal thing but with a lot of personality, light but frankly not all that light, tidy but not neutral, not exactly a pils to me, but more outwardly crafty than the typical yellow beers of the space, i think a nice entry point and very well refined overall, happy to pound on these anytime. crystal clear golden color, an inch of excited white head, more hops in the aroma than i think is common in these, but its not bitter when i drink it, floral and with green underripe fruit character, like not quite ripe wine grape and melon, even lime, aromatic and with some juiciness in the flavor too, not pithy, herbal but not bitter, i think well dosed and distinctive, a way to make it unique without making it aggressive, hard to do in a beer this drinkable but they nail it. fresh cereal grain character here, a little body with it, but dry most of the way, especially and most importantly on the swallow, and i get some lager yeast in the mix too, maybe lightly doughy, but it manifests more as minerality to me than anything else, good water chemistry here, overall attention to detail, and carbonation, all of which make this fairly robust yet drinkable as it needs to be in this style space, very professional, nearly gone on the swallow. there is a little peppy bitterness to this, more as it warms, and a more european malt essence coming out as well, this is where it plays more like a pils than an american lager. really fresh, really good, perhaps mosaic driven with some late catty character as it warms, loving what these guys are up to!
