On-tap 10/31/2017 at Arooga’s in Attleboro, MA, served in a pilsener glass.
A: The beer is a cloudy light yellow color, with a short dense white head that fades slowly and leaves a thick lace on the glass.
S: The aroma contains apples, wheat, Belgian yeast, caramelized malts and some hops.
T: The taste starts out with a mild tartness from apples and Belgian yeast. Then some breadiness comes in from wheat and a hearty but not too heavy malt character. The after-taste is slightly tart.
M: Crisp and a little smooth, medium body, medium carbonation, finish is slightly sticky.
O: Tasty, goes down easily, not too filling, mild kick, good representation of style, this is a decent beer to drink for a while.

Per the Tröegs website, this brew is 5.9% ABV and states "Our friends at Big Hill Ciderworks pressed dozens upon dozens of bushels of Winchester and Rome apples for this Scratch farmhouse-style ale. The sweet and tannic combination of the apples complements the distinctive fruity esters and spicy notes of the La Chouffe yeast."
Growler from the brewery pours cloudy yellow color, looking like pineapple juice with a minimal foamy off white head that faded quickly and left basically zero lacing.
Smells of apples, lemon zest, yeast, peppery spices, orange peel, light clove, biscuit, toasted grains, barnyard funk and citrus fruit. The apple works well with the barnyard style and represents the category well.
Tastes just like it smells but with more citrus like grapefruit, orange peel and pineapple mixed with green apple and pears. Very complex and fruity, the peppery spices bring rye, coriander and peppercorn before some malty sweetness adds to the apple and citrus flavors. A real nice, easy drinking summer beer that went down effortlessly.
