This one pours a clear golden color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.

This smells like grassy and piney hops, orange peel, sweet malt, and biscuits.

This is pretty basic, but fairly tasty still. It's very West Coast-y, with a dry hoppiness, and a touch of very lightly sweet maltiness. I want a bit more aggressiveness from this style, and a lot more bitterness.

This is pretty light bodied, with a great level of drinkability and a typical level of carbonation.

This is pretty run of the mill, but I still enjoyed it nonetheless.

I was expecting something else. After enjoying so many Northeast IPAs recently, I was expecting a Double IPA from the makers of Nugget Nectar to have more body, more nose, more haze, more flavor. Unfortunately, it was not to be. Perhaps I am just too enamored with the juice bombs of Massachusetts, but this is just not what I was hoping for.

Best by 1/29/19

Pours a nice creamy but smaller head, little lacing, crystal clear pale tan color

Nose light creamy malt, lemon zest, lemon oil, little candied citrus marmalade,

Taste sweet candy malt, toasted grainy candy malt, plenty of citrus, lemon marmalade, candied zest, hint of alcohol, like cake batter with lemon icing, like bitterness

Mouth is med bod, decent carb, very light alcohol presence, little sticky syrupy

Overall not bad, nothing special but not bad

The bright clear golden amber colored beer pours out into a Duvel glass with a 1” creamy ivory foam head that recedes slowly to a ring and thin islands of foam while leaving a web of strings and patches of lacing on the sides. Sipping creates lots of small patches of lacing.

The aromas have a nice light lemony citrus character along with just a bit of floral earthiness. There’s also some lightly bready malt in the background.

The flavors are much as expected from the nose and include both the lemon and a bit earthiness. There’s also some other sort of citrus, a bit of floral character and some resinous bitterness. The lightly bready malt provides some balancing sweetness and there is some spicy white pepper.

The mouthfeel is medium bodied and slightly prickly with the light but persistent carbonation. The finish begins as the sweetness and citrus fade away to leave a dry, peppery and bitter ending.

Interesting and unusual beer with the lemondrop hops. It’s enjoyable, drinkable, clean, crisp, refreshing and well brewed, as we’d expect from Troegs. I’m thinking I’ll be buying another 4 pack.

Lots of citrus hop notes - orange, mango, pineapple - kinda blends into the crowd a little bit and while it may be unexciting it is a very well done IPA

A - Clear Orange brown tint IPA fanfare with a 1/2 inch of froth that seems to fizz out pretty quickly leaving some good lacing.
S - Smells rather sweet which I didn't expect not just sweet hops like mango or papaya but actual sweet malt reminding me a bit of lemon cake which others have described as marmalade. Very juicy.
T - Very good balanced hop bitterness almost undetectable masked by wheat and Vienna malts. Sounds terrible but was actually in the mood for a sweet balanced IPA so it really blew me away!
M - Very crush able. As I type the glass is halfway down. I like this more than most of the DIPA's they make. It's even more drinkable than nugget nectar!

Overall I will be sure to pick some more up this is a very tasty smooth DIPA with balanced ABV and lemondrop hop sweetness. Good stuff!

Nice new DIPA from Troegs. Brewed with pilsner, Vienna, and wheat malt. Hopped with Lemondrop, Denali, and Centennial hops. Lots of grapefruit peel, lemon candy, and orange marmalade notes. Crisp and lightly toasty malt with a hint of honey sweetness. Finishes lightly dry with a light bitterness and notes of spice and pine.

16oz can into a pint glass. Freshest by 1/29/19, so plenty fresh

Faintly hazy deep yellow body, a lot of carbonation bubbles replenishing a decent off white head, leavign great lacing

a strong aroma of lemon/grapefruit/grass.

Taste is a little odd though. Faintly lemon & grapefruit. There is some warmth in the back of the throat from the 8.2abv. Light bitterness, but doesn't taste hoppy at all.

Mouth is between medium and full, finish slightly bitter and lemon.

Overall, perhaps I just don't overly care for the lemondrop hop profile with the pilsner malts, because this one didn't do much for me. Came off more as an IPL than a DIPA. not an unpleasant beer, just not my cup of tea.
