8oz pour on tap a the brewery this past Friday lunchtime. Latest in Troeg's tart series.
Paraphrased from the website: Sometimes you just know. The marriage of juicy mango and red raspberries was a sure thing. The fruits are propped up by a rich foundation of oats, honey malt, and pilsner malt. First fermentation with Lactobacillus, second with Hornindal Kveik yeast. A final shot of milk sugar softens the sharpness of the fruit.
Looks nice in the glass, a soft raspberry red color with a short lived pinkish tinted white head. No lacing.
Tart raspberry aroma.
Upon tasting, it's really well balanced and put together. The raspberries are the dominant flavor, but the mango, and I guess the milk sugar serve to dial down the tart level making it very drinkable. The abv is well hidden.
Mouth is above medium, finish a lightly tart sweet wash.
Overall, think this is my favorite in the series. Enjoyed it.
