Malt: Caramel, Chocolate, Munich, Pilsner, Special B
Hops: German Northern Brewer
Yeast: House Lager
Additions: Demerara Sugar, Dark Candy Sugar
What if we took the big and malty Troegenator and made it even bigger, even maltier? So big, you could tuck it away and age it for a year or four. For this sippable triple bock, we stuffed our mash tun full with Munich and chocolate malts and added Belgian candy sugar for a rigorous fermentation. In the end, Triple Nator delivers deep toffee and crisp malty notes. Put it in a glass or put it in your cellar. The next chapter is yours.

A very unique beer.
Way better than the barrel aged version in my opinion.
To me, it has a barleywine aora about it.
It's a beautiful sipper in a snifter.
I definitely want to age the other three.
Definitely a complex brew. A lot of hopped toffee notes.
Definitely worth grabbing a few from the brewery.

Received a 375ml corked and caged bottle from @jzeilinger 3-26-26. Bottled on 3-21-25; consumed 3-28-26.
Beer poured a red tinged brown with a big, bubbled head with the original pour.
Nose has notes of baked bread, honey, and dark fruit.
Taste is a large baked bread malt base that has a small degree of toastiness. Getting fig and prune ester notes from the yeast. Finishes adequately hopped to balance this out.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied and has a viscosity to it that makes each sip pleasurable.
Overall, it is a great treat to have this beer that appears to be pretty scarce given the caged and corked packaging. Thank you so very much J!

Nice head initially, decent lacing.
Sweet malty flavor dominates, a bit cloying. Flavors of fruit, especially pears. A little boozy, candied brandy flavors and notes of sweet antiseptic and perfume.
Caramelized sugars play a large roll, hops influence on flavor fades into the background.
A full bodied beer with a sweet complexity to be savored late in the day. A great dessert beer!

2023 vintage
Pours a small fizzy bubbly head with low retention, a touch of lacing and legs, quite clear for how dark it is, a dark mahogany to cranberry deep red color
Nose big sweet candy malts, biscuity toffee, tons of caramel and candi sugar sweetness, a hint of chocolate, sweet bread crust and glazed pastry, plenty of malt-derived fruity esters with plum, fig, a bit of chocolate covered candy cherry, fig jam, smooth perfumey alcohol,
Taste brings more sweet everything, candy syrup, candi sugar, biscuity toffee and layers of caramel, bright toasted sweet bread and a bit of challah crust, a bit of chocolate, sweet fig jam and sweetened dates, a bit of a bit of cherry and cranberry skin, plum juice, smooth perfumey alcohol, some bitterness from toasted malts and mild spicy hop, chocolate pastry with icing, even some butterscotch, drier than expected on the finish, a little sweet sticky and bitterness lingering
Mouth is full bod, thicker bordering syrupy but not quite, med frothy carb, light warming smooth alcohol
Overall pretty good, surprisingly not syrupy sweet and boozy

Pours a muddy dark brownish color with copper edges and finger of head. The nose has bready notes and also carries notes of Belgian candied sugar. The flavor is deeply malty and the body is very hearty.

Picked this up at Troegs a few weeks ago.
A- looks aren't much here. Pours coca cola brown with absolutely no head and a trace of a tan ring around the top. When it's held up to light it holds its color.
S- the nose is extremely sweet and the major players are the Belgian candy sugar and the Munich malt. Almost smells like molasses. There is a faint hint of chocolate and noticeable alcohol overtones. There is some complexity there but it's just soo sweet.
T- Bam! Almost cloying sweetness from the candy sugar with a fair Munich malt backbone and a hint of chocolate upfront. The alcohol comes in for the finish and adds a hint of bitterness. Left to linger is a nice mix of everything with a mild alcohol heat.
F- very low carbonation and a sticky somewhat light lager body that lets the alcohol consistency cut through.
O- This is a nice take on what seems to be a hard style to pull off. It's very sweet but enjoyable and high quality nonetheless. This would cellar well.

(375 ml corked/caged bottle, 13% abv, bottled in 2022; purchased single at the brewery just over a week ago... poured into my Troegs teku)
L: clear, deep ruby red liquid; foam fizzled away shortly after pour... can't even keep a collar; still red wine
S: dark candy sugar, prunes, raspberry-cherry lozenge, maybe cherry chocolate cordial... little in the way of roasted or boozy notes... maybe some caramelized wood (embers)?... kind of inviting, however, I was hoping for more spice or earthiness; moderate intensity and expression
T: kind of Quad territory, but with a more pronounced alcohol kick, wow!... lots of dark dried fruit enveloped in a candy sugar glaze (or vice versa)... compact, layered malt package which never really unravels or reveals much depth
F: moderately compact, rounded malt body, attentuated and shrilly stretched apart by the jet fuel burn... swiftly flits across the palate, but trailed by screaming heat; a bit much
O: ehh, I'll pass; Nator cut with premium vodka... guess I was expecting more of this, not that their technique/approach can't and won't improve with subsequent batches... I wouldn't jump at a chance to try this year's bottling again, but I do have the BBA version waiting, so we'll see if the Nator is redeemed (2029)

Corked bottle purchased yesterday at the brewery. Many thanks to my sweet Jacqueline for hooking me up.
If you're wondering why no other breweries are attempted to release XTREME bocks, what in this age of quadruple IPAs with names like Jet Fuel and Super Problematic, then you probably are too young or innocent to remember Sam Adams Triple Bock. That stuff came in tiny bottles and tasted like soy sauce and people like me tried very hard to like it. No more, the industry said. We'll add Moon Pies to the mash and partner and intentionally make beers like taste like Original Flavor Listerine, but we will never, EVER, do that hyper-bock shit again.
It takes a supremely competent and well-established brewery to even attempt something like this, so Troegs is ideal. They are forward-thinking but not gimmicky. Their yeastmanship is top-tier and they don't fuck up lagers.
Triple Nator pours surprisingly fizzy, although the head dissipates fairly quickly. The aroma is shockingly smooth. Like, if you told me this was a 6.5-ish ABV dopplebock, based just on the aroma I'd believe you. Smooth, malty, pleasantly sugary, and just a bit of bock zippiness.
Flavor is, likewise, that of a top-tier Dopplebock, with the only evidence of its elevated alcohol being a slight, boozy burn on the finish. Nutty caramel up front, sweet but not too sweet, moving into a maltier middle with lively, spicy yeast and ripe fruit on the back end, finishing up on the aforementioned booze.

Growler pour into a tall glass. From the brewery 48hrs ago.
Nice rich red body, though head disappears quickly, understandable given the abv. No lacing.
Rich and malty aroma with some toffee and raisin notes.
On tasting, sweet, rich, malty, abv apparent, though not 13 2 apparent. A little spice note and some heat. Fair amount of dark skinned and dried fruit.
Mouth between medium and full, finish sweet with a light spice touch on the tip of the tongue.
Overall, nice slow sipper in the evening, should sleep well tonight. The German word for triple is verdreifachen, so guess this is the first verdreifachenbock.

Sampling a cold 32 oz crowler and pouring into my snifter. Thanks to my bro @bpsully for the hook up.
The beer pours a dark rich mahogany color with some ruby highlights when I hold up the beer to the light. a creamy khakhi colored head of .5 cm foams up and sticks around as a sturdy surface layer and edging . I get scattered lattice when I swirl or take a sip of beer.
The aroma on this beer is rich and sweet and malty. I get toffee and caramel with some brown sugar mixing with a bit of red grape and plum notes. Do I smell cinnamon in there? I dont think its an ingredient, but I keep getting faint whiffs.
No hops showing through and the ABV is completely hidden. Could be dangerous if booze is hidden on taste too.
First sip reveals a medium to thicker body with very fine and sort of prickly carbonation. There is a bit of a slick texture and this beer drinks easy on physical traits.
Flavor is similar to the nose with caramel and brown sugar mixing with toffee and plums and raisin. Again, I swear I get a bit of cinnamon on the swallow. Maybe it is boozy heat, but its more spicy than fusol booze. hops dont show up and this is a malty big brew that drinks pretty easy for its heft.
Pretty awesome dopple, the 13% is dangerous and having 32 oz is also risky! Glad I got to try this one!

Tried from crowler purchased at General store enjoyed chilled in a pint
the appearance is good with a ruby color shade of red with thick beige head and fine bead lace sticks with very good retention
Smell of the bock is intense with dark toffee and caramel with dried fig and slight vanilla floral accent and light hint of citrus orange rind from alcohol ester
the feel is smooth yet sweet almost syrupy and low in bitterness yet mild carbonation and subtle alcohol in finish
The flavor of this string bock is concentrated malt essence with bready and sweet yet toasted and creamy yeast with a light woodiness and rich caramel malt and melanoidin in the sweet body that finishes full with a long sweet warming finish
Overall- way smoother than any other bock that is 13% I have tasted it ha such depth of malt flavor yet none of the alcohol you would expect from other beers of much lower abv of this style
