Notes via stream of consciousness: So this is a gosebier with blackberry, which should be good. It's just 4.1% abv so it should make a nice refreshing beer on this hot day in September, most likely one of the last of the year. It's poured a finger-thick cap of pink foam atop a cloudy ruby body with some orange-ish highlights towards the bottom of the glass. The head has steadily dwindled but it still has a solid creamy lid of foam topping it which is great for a sour beer. The aroma is fruity but not distinct in any fruit, and if anything I'd say it smells like sliced red grapes and apples. There's a light suggestion of tartness in that but it doesn't really suggests a sour beer as some others do, and perhaps that's at least due in part to the minerals suggestion from the salt. Geez, I hope it's not too salty! You don't normally get that much salt in the aroma so I'm concerned, but, OK, on to the flavor... perfect, it's not too salty at all and the blackberry comes through much more clearly. It's tart but it's not too tart. I'd equate it with cranberry juice, which is just a slight bit tarter - I mean raw 100% cranberry juice, not that sweetened Ocean Spray stuff. You get the malt as well but it's coming through the rose-colored glasses of the blackberry so it doesn't come cross directly as malt although there is a light bready and biscuity note in the finish. There's barely any bitterness to it, and I'm thinking it's probably below 10 IBUs. That's of course hard to measure even to begin with as most people can only detect variations of 5 IBUs, and we've got sourness and fruit mixing in here as well. In the mouth it's medium-light in body and gently crisp. Overall it's quite nice although I do see it as a one-trick pony. Still, at 4.1% abv I see this as a great summer beer for when you'll be out in the heat of the sun. Whether running the grill at a BBQ or out on a charter fishing excursion I could see drinking more than a few of these. I normally like to mix it up, but if I had to I could do 4 or 5 of these straight. Nicely done.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
