Appearance: Pours a hazy apricot color with a massive head that only the Belgians seem to know how to produce; excellent retention; clumps of lacing stick

Smell: Phenolic Belgian yeast aromatics with clove, pepper and lime zest penetrating

Taste: Tart wheat and farmhouse funk forward; clove, pepper and lime zest flavors emerge, in the middle; the phenols build, after the swallow, bringing a funky finish

Mouthfeel: Light to medium body with high carbonation

Overall: Not the best thing I have had from Fantome but it is nice to see some bottles show up locally

33 cl bottle. Batch 2 d. Lot 06 07 22.

Stored in the fridge and still massive head. Settles fairly quickly.

Bubblegum and Belgian yeast. Honestly don’t think I’d guess citrus fruit was added as I taste none of it. Barnyard notes of hay/straw. Typical Fantome house saison flavor. Cloves, spices, banana, wheat, barley. Very smooth for a Fantome. None of the medicinal notes or aggressive bitterness that sometimes comes with the ghost. Really digging this bottle and the small format.

Hazy orange, ample foam, lasting halo of lace.

Bitter citrus peel zest, grapefruit peel, phenolic Belgian yeast in the aroma.

Taste is firmly bitter, citrus peel front and center, with some phenolic yeast spiciness. Bubblegum, clove, earth, resiny grapefruit peel.

Medium bodied, pillowy feel, ample carb.

Overall this is pretty nice, a departure from the usual Fantôme mixed ferm tartness, more of a straightforward Belgian saison.
