Pale gold beer with very little head to speak of. Citrusy nose and very light-bodied as you'd expect. I was not prepared to like this beer as I usually scorn gadgety "Rita" efforts. But I have to say on a warm night, with a nice balance of tart (lime/orange) sweet (agave) and salt, this ale does work as a qualified thirst quencher. Not a bad choice for taking the edge off the heat.

I've always thought that gluten free beers should lean more into sour styles. So many of the gf grains end up with a sour profile that when you got for something like a brown ale you never get the right maltiness, and with an IPA, you have to use so many hops to bury the sour taste that you overdo it and lose the balance. Not to say there aren't some decent gf IPAs, but they won't hold a candle to a well crafted real IPA. This beer leans into the sour and is indeed reminiscent of a margarita. Tart and puckery, with noticeable lime and a touch of salt, which I think puts it firmly in the Gose territory. If we continue to resist having a GF category (which would be handy), then we should stretch the definitions a bit for these beers. Pleasant.

Copenhagen 17/10 2024. 35,5 cl Can from Meny, Borups Allé. Light yellow Can with a sailing dark green bird.
Pours opaque unclear pale yellow with a small white head. Very bubbly. Disappears after a few seconds leaving no trace of foam. No lacing.
Aroma is medium intense with a sweet, lemonade-like odor mingling with tart citrus fruit. Sweet orange and pineapple. Coconut in abundance. Lime.
Light carbonation. Slightly thick, oily, soft, lightly tingling texture.
Flavor is medium intense with a rather strong sweetness followed by a moderately strong sourness. Aftertaste is sweetish with a light tart undertone. Lingers shortly. Finish is semi-dry.
Another hopeful try of emulating a cocktail.

Poured from a "Putin is a Dick" crowler into a pint glass. Pours hazy yellow with a small white head. Smells of sweet grain and lime. Tastes of lime and salt with nice grain. Beer is light bodied and easy drinking, good carbonation. Overall, a good beer.

DATE: Septwmber 23, 2021... OCCASION: celebrating the first Back to School night that I didn't have an actual class for...an odd feeling! GLASSWARE: Warsteiner pokal... pours a fizzing, crackling sallow lemonade body rife with bubbles that contribute to a sudsy, short-lived head... lime front and center, with coconut, agave and orange zest--something of a fiesta is present in this... pleasant, welcoming aroma that keeps away from bitterness or offensiveness, as the rice doesn't bring any negatives to the table... incredibly mouth-puckering tartness, refreshing but initially jarring at the teeth and tongue... some warmth late, due to the acidity... juicy lime, orange juice, grapefruit, and agave create a Pavlovian response... it's quite a big presence for a beer its size--as well as its gluten-free chemistry...as strange as this one might be, I think it is more engaging and worthwhile than many other GF lager attempts, including Lakefront's New Grist... will try to stock up on this one....

Very pale, cream yellow color with thin head. Smells like watered down tequila with lime. Tastes quite sour like straight lime. Very carbonated and light.
