First had: on tap at Heartland Chophouse, NYC, NY
Sounded better than it was. Still ok though. Poured a light, clear golden yellow with a finger of white head that dissipated. Sweet malty aroma. Light, mildly fruity taste, with sweet malts and barely any hop presence. A little bit earthy, but not really distinctive as a saison. Light mouthfeel and somewhat drinkable, but I had wouldn't get more than a pint, if that.

Got a pint of this at the brewery.
A: Pours a light, golden body with a small, white head woth low retention and some lacing along the sides of the glass.
S: A sweet, malty smell with some banana ester undertones.
T: A kind of malty taste with a bitter, sour aftertaste. The sweet malts and banana esters seemed to disappear.
M: A little on the thin side, but still relatively smooth.
D: Ok overall, but the mouthfeel was a little thin, which took away from the experience. Still a solid beer and a nice summer offering.

On tap at the Heartland Brewery on 43rd
The name French Toast is what initially drew me in. Turns out the brew is a summer seasonal and a saison. French Toast pours a pale yellow orange color with a nice white head. Full saison nose, sans funk. Instead its layered with soft malts, wheat, earthy tones and grass, sweet hops and...carrots? It tastes good, bright lemon/citrus fruit notes, very bready with a distinct yeast character. Crisp, medium/light body, good amount of carbonation and very drinkable.
