Type: 16-oz. can
Reviewed as: New England Double / Imperial IPA
Glass: Pure Project 16-oz. brandy snifter glass
Price: $5.29
From: Windmill Farms in Del Cerro (San Diego), Calif.
Purchased: May 3, 2021
Consumed: May 21, 2021
Misc.: Canned on March 26, 2021; Can said 9.2 pct. ABV
Went over to Windmill Farms to pick up a few beers and came across this one. Online description for this was “DIPA dry hopped to the extreme, infused with freshly toasted coconut and fortified with over 200 lbs of pineapple puree!”
Poured a medium yellow hazy color with 3-to-4 fingers of rocky white head. Could see just a few bubble streams coming up along the sides of the glass. Perfect spiderweb foamy lacing. Almost perfect foamy retention. (Sight - 4.75)
Smelled pineapple, coconut, vanilla, lime, pine and tangerine. No mention of hops but I would lean toward Azacca and Centennial. Not sure how prominent they are with hazy IPAs. Better out of the can with more coconut. (Smell - 3.75)
Tasted about as good as the nose, maybe just a tad worse. Got pineapple, coconut, lime, pine, piña colada, vanilla and tangerine. Still leaning toward Azacca and Centennial for hops. Did not taste 9.2 pct. ABV. Really smooth. (Taste - 3.50)
Medium body. Oily texture. Average carbonation. Juicy finish. (Feel - 4.00)
Not one of my favorite Full Circle beers but glad I got to try it. (Overall - 3.75)

True to the name, the appearance, nose and flavour deliver as promised.
That said, it's a bit too boozy for me.
This would be great reformulated as a pale ale.

Sweet pineapple, slightly hoppy and slightly boozy nose. I was disappointed that I didn't get any coconut vibes in the aromatics or on the initial taste or swallow. I was hoping the coconut would come out more as it warmed, but unfortunately it did not...just got pineapple-boozy-er. Taste followed the nose with an almost overripe, sweet pineapple flavor and a then a subdued hoppy bite. This would be really good for me, if it had more depth, mouthfeel and creaminess. AND I could find the darn coconut! I know "Piña" bomb is the name of this brew, but you got a couple of coconuts on the nice artwork on the label!
