From Bine and Vine, bb looks like 2026, can't read month and day because of a sticker.

It pours reddish gold with a finger of foam that lasts. Lacing is excellent.

Smell is a nice mix of malty sweetness and hop bitterness. Earthy notes popped in my nose.

The taste is English malt that brings sweet and earthy
notes, nice English hop bitterness that provides balance, little bit of grass. I'm digging this ESB..

Medium bodied, I would drink this again.

(50 cl bottle, 5.8% alc/vol, L25 307; purchased single off shelf at State Line yesterday... poured into a nonic)

L: crystal-clear, bronzed amber liquid; big rise of spongy foam... thin cap keeps around, but it's leaving a lace ring with each sip; magnificent

S: earthy, musky hops, leathery caramel, hint of dried apple... herbal-medicinal, tonic... spicy and green; sweaty... not intense overall, just dense and dank

T: rather (whole-leaf) hoppy, start-to-finish... relatively dry in the aftertaste, with the pungent spicy bitterness of the hops cutting through the toasted sugars of the grain, and I'm sure the alcohol is enhancing the expressions... strange, it has an almost a German pils punch to the hops just with toasty, 'amber' malt flavors to back it

F: taut-bodied, lean muscle but light; resinous membrane to each sip... the hops and alc and a touch of stealth carbonation give it some warmth and lift... stoked how dry this comes across; a pleasure to sip and it whets the appetite for another

O: man, I wish I got another bottle for my buddy who loves ESBs; I'll go back sooner than later... excellent; nothing like whole hops and English malts; refreshing to have had a fine ESB after none for a long while (sorry Yards) (2323)

On tap at Churchkey in Washington, DC.

This one pours a golden orange-brownish color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.

This smells quite toasty, with some dried citrus, doughiness, and some spicy hop character.

I wish this had been on cask, but it still presents very well on draft here at this wonderful bar. It’s extremely refreshing, with a toasty, almost rye like breadiness, some light caramel, tea, spicy hops, and a touch of something like lemon peel or orange peel.

This is lighter bodied, but slightly creamy, and super drinkable.

This bar always seems to get the coolest kegs – this is just about as good as it gets for an ESB.

I had this on cask 9/13/23 @ the Beer Temple.

Semi-opaque orange appearance.

Big bright white head; frothy lacing remained.

Raw oats, cream & fresh bread notes in the nose.

Creamy medium mouthfeel.

Raw oats & cream flavors up front; wheat bread notes on the finish.

An earthy treat.

L- Mid-chestnut, clear, pours with 3mm fine white head.
S- Quite a malty smell to this one.
T- Malty, mildly roasted flavour, into moderate hoppy and refreshing/dry finish.
F- It's got a good balance between rich vs dry/hops, it's very sessionable, but it doesn't come over to me as being quite 5.2%. There now lacing down the glass and carbonation in the mouth remains good.
O- There's nothing wrong or out of balance I note here (this is a positive conclusion!), it's a decent ESB. That said given it's foundation of 5.2% to work off I was hoping for something a little bit more characterful.
