The Oude Geuze Vielle is brewed by @oudbeersel brewery which is located on the outskirts of Brussels.
She has already won more than fifteen awards.
This gueuze has a beautiful clear golden orange color.
Its foam is very fine and disappears very quickly and benefits from a very fine sparkling.
The nose is very powerful and tickles our nostrils as soon as we pop its cork. The intoxicating aromas of peach, apricot and grapefruit are well present.
On the palate, we will find ourselves facing a controlled and not astringent acidity. Carbonization is fine and surprisingly, there is a slight bitterness. In the flavors, you will find notes of green apples and woody notes and a slight dryness on the palate.
I advise you to accompany this sumptuous gueuze with a toast with smoked trout rillette.

375ml bottle at Brasserie Kasteel Beersel. Can't read the date. Served in a branded glass. Review entered from notes.
Pours slightly murky, big head on the pour. Lots of carbonation, medium sized sustained head. Smell is acidic and woody, stonefruits far from ripe. Taste is similar, more oak and dry leaves. Hints of lemon and lemon peel, but really goes back to unripe stonefruit. Mouthfeel is big, full, satisfying but not heavy. Very nice gueze.

Copenhagen 10/6 2017. 75 cl bottle with cork from Vin De Table, Frederikssundsvej, Kbh. NV. Some old Abbey on the label (of course).
Pours hazy golden yellow with huge bubbly white head. Settles as thin patchy layer of foam.
Aroma is lightly sweet but dominated by overpowering very tart sourness. Lemon, citrus and grapefruit. Almost acidic.
Strong carbonation and watery palate.
Flavor is strong and intense. Light sweetness followed by intense tart sourness. Sour aftertaste and a very dry finish.
Just as a Lambic should be. Immensely sour and dry as a Desert. When they say they do not add sugar - I believe them. Not for everyone.

Pours lots of foam initially but dies down a little quick. Keeps some lacing. A little daker than your average beer color. Some yeasts floating around. As for smell, wow it's very unique. Very wild and almost like a gas leak.
Tastes a little similar to the smell, but seems kind of easy to drink.
I like it as a unique beer but couldn't have it all the time for every drink.

Pretty solid geuze, as expected. Consumed relatively new. It's not overly aged or cheesy tasting (if that's what you're looking for). Very acidic, tart, lemony sour apple characteristics with white pepper, hay, and general barn. Of course not much in the way of malts or hops and such. Very lively in carbonation and feel. Went well with some pasta, Pretty good example of the style.

2014 vintage poured from a corked and caged 750mL bottle into a SP lambic glass. pours a foggy orange to almost burnt orange with over three fingers of soapy white foam head. lots of funk on the nose. aged hops and light oak. taste has blue cheese, light green apple and a little bit of lemony tartness. medium-full mouthfeel. the sourness has most likely tamed down in the 10 year time span in the bottle but it’s still got a slightly acidic finish to it.

The dark amber body is halfway to opaque with a short white head that disperses to a denser, creamier but flat collar.
Plum, pear, and apricot qualities contribute to the tartness while fairly clean white oak threads contain a faint hint of walnut before coming to an herbal bitterness.
After having Morte Subite and Lindeman's Faro, this one's right oaky, tart and funky by comparison, with a solid chewiness leading to its bone dry swallow.

Best before: 07.12.2030. Bottled in 2010. 12 years aged. Poured clear with an incredibly rocky off white head. Light amber color. Full nose with funk, earthiness, and classic tartness. Taste is incredibly balanced with malt and barnyard funk. Highly, highly drinkable. An amazing brew that has aged to perfection.

375ml bottle into a straight glass. Best by 2034. Think I'm okay here.
Looks very good in the glass. Hazy, glassy, medium amber body with a persistent white head. Layers of lacing.
Mildly funky aroma.
On tasting, certainly sour, light fruit note. Somewhat funky, also on the dry side.
Mouth above medium. Finish was initially quite bitter, but this mellowed out as it warmed.
Overall, nice beer to have on a muggy afternoon. Pleasant sipper.
