Appearance: pours a dull and yellowish orange color. a finger or two of a white head that fades quickly and leaves behind little to no lacing. hazy and opaque.
Smell: apricot and other stone fruits. comes off sweet at first. strong salty qualities. strong lemongrass and citrusy tartness.
Taste: opens with sweet apricot taste. more fruitiness includes more stone fruit and tons of citrus. grapefruit and orange, some lemon as well. strong sea salt comes through and stays throughout. lemongrass comes through next. a tartness arises with notes grapefruit and some lemon juice.
Mouthfeel: fairly refreshing, but much heavy then a regular gose. both salty and tartness tastes linger for a while.
Overall: certainly not a traditional gose but a very good "americanized" take on one. a delicious beer with great qualities. I haven't tasted salt in this intense of a way in beer before. also the herbs and fruit are spot on.

Bottle shared last night at Umberto's tasting.
This one pours a cloudy/hazy golden orange, with a small head, and a little bit of lacing.
Smells like pure fresh-squeezed orange juice and apricot, so fruity. From the aroma alone, I might not have guessed this was a gose, however.
I get a little bit of salt that clues me in that this is a gose, but it's not all that sour, maybe a 1/10 on the sour scale. I expected it to be a little more sour and salty, but it's still delicious anyway. So much apricot and orange here, juicy and wonderful. You can't really tell this is 8.8%, doesn't feel that strong to me.
This is medium bodied, with a very juicy mouthfeel.
Not bad at all, with a few tweaks I think it would be awesome.

I got a bottle of Short;s The Creepster from BeerJay today, I was pretty sure I wasn't going to be able to try this beer, but BeerJay came through with an extra bottle, so lets see how it goes, 2015 Bottling date. Poured from a brown 750 ml into a snifter.
A- The label is awesome and it's eye catching. It poured a cloudy golden color that took on more of orange color wen held to the light with a fingers worth of white head that died down to a thin ring that eventually faded away and it didn't leave any lacing behind. This was a nice looking beer, but I wish it had better head retention and lacing.
S- The aroma starts off higher amount of medium sweetness with some fruity aromas being the first to show up and it's followed by a little bit of funky yeast that goes right into some sour lemon and citrus fruit aromas with some coriander showing up towards the end. This beer has a very nice aroma that's true to style.
T- The taste seems to be similar to the aroma and it starts off with a medium amount of sweetness with some citrus flavors being the first to show up and it has a slightly higher amount of medium sourness. up next comes a very light amount of funky yeast. On the finish there's a nice salty flavor some sourness lingering into the aftertaste along with some lemon flavors. This a is a very nice tasting beer, it's just what i would expect from the style.
M- Smooth, a little refreshing, a little acidic, on the thicker side of being full bodied with a higher amount of medium of medium carbonation. This beer has a good mouthfeel, it works well with it.
Overall I thought this was a good beer and I thought it was a good example of the style, it has all the aspects that I expect from the style and while the extra fruits don't add much to this beer I still enjoyed and I liked how true to style it is. This beer has nice drinkability, I think one glass is enough for me, anymore than that and it might get to be too acidic. What I like the most about this beer is how true to style it is, it's just what I expect from the style. What I like the least about this beer was appearance, it wasn't bad, but I thought the head and lacing could be a little better. I would buy this beer again if I had the chance and i would recommend it to anyone who likes the style. All in all I was happy with this beer and i'm glad that Shorts decided to tackle this style. It's not my favorite Shorts beer, but it is one of the better Gose's I've had. Good job guys, I think some different versions of this that are heavily fruited would be pretty good, keep it up.
