Wakatu is a single malt and single hop “SMASH” India Pale Lager brewed exclusively with Briess’ Synergy Select Pilsen Malt and New Zealand Wakatu hops. Very bright with a golden straw hue and a big, frothy head, Wakatu has aromas of subtle lime, dank citrus, and bread. This unique brew’s flavor starts out with a slight bitterness that transitions to flavors of rich malt, lime, and floral hops. Wakatu has a very clean mouth feel and a dry and bitter finish.

Poured from crowler to snifter. Hazy golden in color with a few fingers of foamy head that settles to a thin collar of foam floating atop. Aromas of bready malt with citrusy lemon and lime notes. Clewn, crisp flavor, with crackery/bready flavors kicked about by lemony-limey herbal flavors. Very interesting and refreshing.

Golden body, mostly clear, lots of white lacing. Traditional malts offer spice and cracker, hops deliver fruity notes of apple and stone fruit and a brisk close. Very nice!
