Very Good
Synalpheus PinkfloydiSynalpheus Pinkfloydi
Notes: Synalpheus Pinkfloydi is a cherry lemonade Gose brewed brewed with Lemondrop hops, Himalayan Pink Sea Salt, coriander, lemon and Balaton cherries from King Orchards. Slightly hazy with a light pink color and moderate head retention, this summertime Gose smells of bright cherry, tart lemon, and a little salt. Despite a lengthy list of ingredients, Synalpheus Pinkfloydi has a great balance of flavors. Tart cherry and lemon complement the saltiness of a classic Gose. A dry and tart finish rounds out this easy drinking summer brew.

This beer was exactly as described if not better as a cherry lemonade gose. Sweet, tart salty and full of lemon and cherry flavors. I would definitely have a few in one sitting but sadly only picked up one from the Vintage Estate. Give it a try!

12 fl. oz bottle
Served in a tulip glass

This beer pours a rosy amber hue. It is topped with an inch of beige head that leaves quickly with no trace.

The smell is tart cherry and lemon and briny.

The taste is quite tart with the aforementioned cherry and lemon. It has a pleasantly salty and dry finish.

Medium bodied with a dry mouthfeel

This is quite an enjoyable beverage. The flavors, the smell, and the dryness really hit the spot after a warm spring day of working outside.

Appearance - Pours deep ruby color with a light red head that disappears as quickly as it appears. No lacing.

Aroma - Big tart cherry aroma, lemon/lime, salt is noticeable. Salty, sweet and a little tart all in one.

Taste - Mild cherry, little funk, some salt, I get the lemon. Everything is there, not to complain but would have liked a little more cherry but still tastes good.

Feel - light bodied not over carbed very light and easy drinking.

Overall - Well done, little more cherry and salt in the taste and this would have been a home run. It is still really tasty, a perfect pool beer.

12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 7/24/2018. Pours slightly hazy deep orange/amber/light reddish color with a 2 finger fairly dense and fluffy off white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings on the glass, with a light amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big tart/sour red/black cherry, fruit skin/pits, lemon, lime, orange, grapefruit, citrus zest, pear, red/green apple, melon, white wine, coriander, peppercorn, mint, sea salt, hay, straw, grass, wheat, cracker, lightly toasted bread, light lacto funk, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of fruity/acidic yeast, fruit, spice, salt, citrus hops, and moderate pale/wheat malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big tart/sour red/black cherry, fruit skin/pits, lemon, lime, orange, grapefruit, citrus zest, pear, red/green apple, melon, white wine, coriander, peppercorn, mint, sea salt, hay, straw, grass, wheat, cracker, lightly toasted bread, light lacto funk, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate fruity/lactic tartness, fruit tang; light coriander spiciness, and herbal/grassy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of tart cherry, fruit skin/pits, lemon, lime, orange, grapefruit, citrus zest, pear, red/green apple, melon, white wine, coriander, peppercorn, mint, sea salt, hay, straw, grass, wheat, cracker, lightly toasted bread, light lacto funk, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/acidic yeast, fruit, spice, salt, citrus hops, and moderate pale/wheat malt flavors; with an awesome malt/tartness and tangy fruit balance; with no puckering/astringent flavors after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering tart/sourness, tangy fruit, and bitter/spiciness. Medium carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth, moderately bready/grainy/acidic/tangy, fairly crisp, and lightly saline balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5%. Overall this is an excellent gose. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/acidic yeast, fruit, spice, salt, citrus hops, and moderate pale/wheat malt flavors; very smooth, crisp, and refreshing to drink with the modestly acidic/tangy/drying finish; not overly lactic or salty. Very flavorful and not watery for the ABV. Nicely jammy cherries; with balanced lemon, spice, salt, Lacto, and lemon drop hops; and a solid pale/wheat malt backbone against acidity. A very enjoyable offering, and spot on style example as expected.

A very OK beer. It's fruity and refreshing and good after a long day outside, but it is really acidic. Not something I can drink multiple of. If you're in the mood for something resembling lemonade, this is fine, but other than that I will need to be in a certain mood to buy it again. It looks super cool though.

OK, I had no idea what this was when I opened it. What a nice surprise!

It pours pale red with fine fizz. The aroma is a fruity acrid but weak compared to the taste, which is a bucketload of things that all work well with the original gose style. The finish is sour and lingers long.

Highly recommended. Not traditional, and a bit American (they added lots of things).

Appearance - The beer poured a dark ruby red with a white head.

Smell - The beer had a light salty cherry nose.

Taste - The beer reminded me of watered down cherry jam. There was a light salty presence with a grittiness that evolves toward aftertaste.

Mothfeel - The carbonation is appropriate for this lighter gose.

Overall - I bought the beer for the name. For that, I get another Shorts disappointment.

I'm halfway through my six pack at this point, and in a nutshell this one's a better-than-decent sour. It's not quite the gose I was expecting, however. It starts off with a sour kick that's augmented by tart cherry flavor and finishes with lemon zestiness. The salt is minimal in this one. If it had a little less sour and a little more tart and salt, it would be near perfect.
