A - Deep oranger with a thin white head. Nice lacing.

S - Peaches and sweet cream. Some faint spices are present as well.

T - Sweet and tart peaches right up front. Good amount of milk sugar comes through next. Slight alcohol taste in the finish.

M - Heavy mouthfeel with a very smooth finish. Alcohol provides a nice warming feeling.

O - A very unique offering from Short's. Worth trying but can't see myself having more than one.

750mL bottle.

Darker than expected brandishing a tarnished golden color with a stunning clarity. Good frothing and the lacing is amazing. Smells of fresh picked peaches from stem to meat to pit. Light lactose and biscuity malt aroma. Exceptionally smooth with a rolling crispness that feigns a full body, solid medium body is unwavering. Big orchard flavor of macerated peaches with the earthy woodiness of the pits. Slight hop bitterness and peppery warming alcohol help to balance the sweetness of the semi-tart peach flavor and malt character. Toasted biscuit and and earthy yeast trail in the drying finish.

Wow, look at Short's ... bringing the fruit beer to a god like level. A bottle of chaotic goodness. This is a beautiful beer, a strong ale at that and drinkable too boot ... lovey yet dangerous.

Reviewed from notes dated 8-3-09.

Head isn't a problem for this beer as four fingers of biscuity tan fluff is easily achieved. Fades slowly and turns rocky leaving waves and dots of lace. Body is a murky copper color. Nose brings with it zesty yet creamy peach notes that is attractive without being ridiculous. The smell really is very nice. The first thing you get with this one is that initial bite of peach with slightly tart peach skin and a dry fruit feel. Peaches continue to dance across the tongue when they are joined with a soft hop fel that adds just the right amount of balance. Creaminess does start to develop as the beer warms bit, it becomes almost sweet bread like on the mouthfeel. Mouthfeel is really big. This is a super drinkable beer, oh so fresh and unique. Shorts shows again what a cool, fun thing beer can be.

A 750 mL bottle from the 2007 run, #431 of 820. Shared with ksak.

A: The peach ale is an amber color, somewhere on the autumnal scale between orange and brown; translucent only if you've got a nearby light source. Off-white, the head is, doesn't lace though.

S: The aromas are peachy, even 5 years in. The sweetness is tempered by the lactose and booziness. Overall the ale still has it going on but the caramel body is slowing creeping up.

T: My first sip revealed more spices than the nose hinted at - cinnamon cones through first, setting up the peaches. Those fruits are juicy, still sugary after all these years. The creamy body is evident, a sweetness that compliments the sweetness of the peaches. Vanilla mixes with the cinnamon, even a woody firmness (thanks vanilla) is hinted at. The strength of the ale is palpable but it doesn't weigh on me. A very thick ale.

M: Yeah, it's held up very nicely over 5+ years, sweet and peachy with a nice cream finish. The spiciness, paired with peaches, is like a flaming peach dessert.

750 mL bottle. Great appearance, a bright orange color with a gorgeous head of cream, that lasts very well. Nose smells of peaches and creamWell balanced flavor. Sweet peaches, milk and vanilla notes, with notes of the original beer as well. Very nice ale.
