Pours a mirky copper/reddish color with a small amount of white head that leaves behind a bit of lacing. Smell is sweet fruits (oranges, pears, apples)l, hops, and citrus. Taste is damn good, hops, cirtus, floral, with a sweet alcohol kick on the finish. A really nice caramel aftertaste along with some bitterness. Mouthfeel is on the heavy side of light, just right, with a small amount of carbonation. A really good DIPA that I'm glad I had the chance to sample thanks to an extra in a trade!

Thank you Derek for the Growler (I owe you one!).

Poured a deep and cloudy amberish color with a smaller sized off white head. Aromas of pine, citrus, grapefruit peels, floral green hoppiness, and a trace of caramel. Tastes of grapefruit juice, grass, cigrus, and some caramel. Light maltiness with very nice hoppiness!

Enjoyed sharing a growler of this with guests for our annual LobstahFest party. This sacred elixir had been in the deep cooler for a while, a la a couple months waiting for the party. Obtained from Joe at the pub. Pours a dark orange, with slight lacing and head. Intense aromas of citrus and grapefruit, with heady toffee and charleston chew notes as well. Taste is powerful and excellent, bitter but crisp, with the killer bitterness torquing through the citric notes and grapefruit rind elements. Aftertaste craves for more. The alcohol is there, but this one is smooth...no harsh medicinal esters. Very nicely crafted, a bit mellower than some of Joe's earlier anniversary offerings. Bravo to four years!

Much thanks to hopdog for sharing this growler...
Appears a hazy amber with a small white head with co2 rising to the top of the glass in at a medium speed. Small streaks of lacing are left around the glass.
Smell is of hoppy citrus, spices, and caramel malt and roasted nuts. Wow...very nice.
Taste is of the mentioned aromas with a ton of spice, citrus, pine, and caramel fighting it out along the palate.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied, spicy, with hop resin resounding.

Pours a hazy medium copper in color with a good size cream colored, creamy head that slowly recedes with a good deal of lacing on the glass. Big, juicy hoppy citrus aroma. Grapefruit is the most dominant, some nice tropical fruit sweetness as well, pineapple and mango. Taste follows with a good amount of citrusy hoppiness dominating. A good biting bitterness and some alcohol warmth towards the finish as well as a strong peppery hop tingle on the tongue. Medium to heavy feel, creamy carbonation is smooth and full on the tongue and is well balanced by the spicy and peppery hoppiness that lingers into a very nice big bitter aftertaste. A great beer to celebrate an anniversary with. Joe definitely continues to show his expertise within this style with this beer. Cheers and congrats to all of the Shorts team, some of the hardest working people I've seen in the business, certainly well deserving of their successes.
