This is dammed tasty!
Pours slightly cloudy and a pretty deep gold for a saison. Weak head, falls to a little ring that does persist.
The smell is toasty bread, white wine, a touch of funk/earthiness, spice, grassy and floral hoppiness. Just a hint of lemon.
The taste follows along with that little bit of funk or earthiness being just enough. Definite white wine grape goodness, Belgian yeast, clove, floral, all held down by a bread toast malt. The citrus note is bouncing between lemon and orange i=on the tongue.
The feel is a little creamy for the style, but there is a nice bite from the phenolics/tannins and a bit of a sting from the carbonation. Overall it is clean, I wouldn't call it really crisp. It finishes quite dry.
Diggin' this one, kids. It has everything you expect from a saison, but a bit amped up. The only knock would be the creamy feel, but the style is so broad who's to say it meets style or not? Good job from a brewery that flies under the radar, but is very capable of making a great beer.

From the 650 ml. bottle 06/17/19. Sampled on December 30, 2019.
The appearance is golden with short-lived fizzy white head and moderate clarity.
It smells like Saison with its toasted white bread crust, grapes, and a light fruity and floral hop character. Belgian yeast.
Effervescent light to medium mouthfeel.
The taste brings out a toasted sweetness, a sort of tart fruitiness, and a light hop crispy finish.

Bought a 22 ounce bottle at the Harpoon Brewery in Windsor, Vermont. After poking around this said buy me. So I did. Today was a nice mid September day back in Ohio with still enough sun beating down for this evening to be a primo Saison setting before the autumn chill brings out the heavy hitters.
Poured into a DFH tulip, there was little head over a nice clear gold body; but the carbonation kept coming off the etched fish at the bottom of the glass. Smell had a nice wine sweetness from the Sauvignon blanc barrels this was aged in on top of the barnyard funk and grassy aromas. Taste mirrored the above with a clove flavor rising on the palate. Finish was very dry and zesty. A very good addition to my Saison arsenal.
