Excellent lacing throughout the tasting. The head does die down to film and rim bubbles, though. Golden and clear.
Strong grainy, raw barley smell. Slightly sour, no hop.
This tastes like a Helles was blended with a Saison. It’s tart with plenty of carbonation. Some white pepper hop flavors in the finish and aftertaste.

Harpoon Brewery "Southie Lager"
12 fl. oz. can coded "pkg 333 11/27/23 13:16". Sampled on 02/11/24.
$20.99/12-pk "Season Pass" mixed case @ Javies Beverage, Phila., PA
Notes via stream of consciousness: It's poured a mostly clear yellow body beneath a 3/4" head of white foam. The aroma is clean and fairly bright with floral hops over a lightly sweet malt base. Unfortunately the head has already dwindled which is disappointing. The taste follows the aroma as is so often the case. There's some sweetish, grainy and grassy malt and a pleasant floral character, and some mild herbal and spicy character appears in the finish as well. A median bitterness balances it nicely leaving a little bit of sweetness up front but then finishing dry. In the mouth it's light-medium in body and gently crisp, leaving it smooth across the palate. That moderate carbonation at least partially explains the limited head retention. With everything said it's a decent enough golden lager that's satiating but still drinkable in multiple servings.

Picked-up as part of a mixed twelve-pack at Bradford's in Plymouth for about fifteen dollars. My fourteenth brew from these guys. Canned on date of 2/20/23. Just ok for me.
