Two year old cans found on a dusty shelf, seems to be a one-off.

Murky brownish amber orange, lasting foam, creamy texture.

Aroma of acidic cranberry and wild bacteria, yogurty lacto.

Taste is tart with some cranberry presence, not getting any kumquat.

Sharply citric, moderate sourness, somewhat malty and medium bodied, ample carb level.

One and done, this seems to be a bit one note though it may have been more fruit forward when fresh.

Overall it drinks like a Flanders Red, nothing close to a Saison, it's labeled as a "sour amber ale".

Pour is off white / light beige. about a finger of lasting head. Opaque brown.
Nose is funky, bretty, candied lemon rind, peaches, grassy.
Taste is funky, lemony, lightly tart. hint of peaches. cherries. wonderful, complex beer. Subtle cranberry. Dry finish.
easy to drink - not overly carbonated. great beer. Maybe a bit less carbonation than I’d anticipate for the style

Thanks to Whyteboar for this one. 16oz can (dated 10/14/21) poured into 14oz teku. Poured a muddy and turbid dark brown (that had a slight reddish tint) and had about an inch of tan head that had good retention and very light lacing.

The aroma had nice tartness at the front of the nose, but no grain/malt, and only a hint of the fruits listed on the label.

Pretty similar on the tongue, solid tartness, no grain, and the fruit showed through a bit more. None of the oak mentioned on the label showed through in either the nose or palate.

The body was on the light side of medium, carried good carb, and had a semi-dry finish.

Drinkability was good, but not great, the beer had a hard time keeping my interest for the full serving.

Overall, a solid enough and enjoyable brew. Worth trying if you see it.

Can from Market of Choice.

A clear deep amber brown with a dense, beige head with excellent retention and lacing. The nose is classic Jolly Pumpkin. Oak, musty funk, mild acetic character along with Flanders Red notes of dried cherries, cinnamon and lactic acid. The palate opens fruity and tart with a lactic bite, earthy and dried mushroom funk, a hint of citrus and tart sweetened cranberries. The mid-palate is sweeter than usual JP beers with a cooked brown sugar character. Light, woodsy oak note. Sweet and tart on the finish with nice fruit. Nice.

Look: It pours plum like and a bit hazy with an off white head. Head retention is very good.

Smell: It has a moderate sour aroma with cranberries and lemon. There are some earthen elements with a bit of lemon. There are hints of dough in the back ground.

Taste: It is moderately sour with the taste of cranberries and kumquat. There are touches of lemon and earth. There are some dough like elements with very low spiciness.

Feel: It has a medium body with a moderately dry and sour aftertaste.

Overall, it has a nice refreshing combination of fruits and traditional saison elements.

Modest head production and retention. Fairly clear reddish-brown body.

Very oaky, vinous, and tannic nose; quite inviting. No hint of berries, but clearly oak aged. A bit of caramel and wheat.

While the cranberries add a bit of sweetness and inimitable cranberry flavor, they are secondary to the overall base beer - which is a good thing. It's a pleasant, relatively sour, and very oaky saison. The kumquat is almost a non-factor, playing more to the overall sourness than imparting any strong flavor.

Modest pucker. Not a beginner's sour, but not too strong. A very nice oaky saison, and while technically fruited, it doesn't come across remotely gimmicky. Quite nice.
