Well, I had to go into work for a couple of hours to help with the order. Now I'm back home and having this:
Parent Trap - Blackstack Brewing - St. Paul, MN - Imperial Stout - 9.9% ABV (from the can)

A huge letdown in my book.

Poured from the can it is a pitch black pour. No light shines through when held up to the light. The head is 2 finger and brown. The head is quite frothy looking, with all sizes of bubbles in it. The retention is quite good, and there's some beautiful lacing on the glass.
The aroma has notes of chocolate in it. I do get a decent amount of peanut butter in it. I also get a malty cookie aroma that shines through. I do not get any barrel in the aroma. That is not good since they bill it as partly barrel aged.
The flavor is, I hate to say it, somewhat bland. I do get some cookie up front with a hint of chocolate. I get the peanut butter on the back. Both flavors seem muted. I get no barrel at all in the flavor at all.
Thinner feeling. No alcohol burn at all.
This is a very disappointing beer. If it's billed as barrel aged, at least in part, it should have barrel notes in it. It has none. The flavors are muted, and way less than the aroma suggested. What a shame.

Jet black and opaque body; thin, lightbrown head. Heavy sweetness in the aroma; brown sugar and dark chocolate. Flavor picks from the aroma; milk chocolate; figs and raisins; boozy; maple syrup and cinnamon (listed on the bottle) are readily apparent. Heavy body; dense and silky.

A big, complex dark ale blend. Elements of stout, barleywine and barrel aging are readily apparent. The maple syrup and cinnamon add depth without being too overpowering. May be too sweet for some (I wouldn't go out of my way for another bottle, but it is good for what it is). I can't say I detected any smoked sea salt or sesame seeds also listed on the bottle label.

Thanks for starting us off @DoctorZombies !

Before I present my beer for today (glad to be back to the one beer per day target), just want to let everyone know we are down to a Final Four of four superb beers you can shop for over the next few days if you would like to take part in crowning the champion beer. The Final Four takes place Thursday and Friday, two beers each maximum for each day.

    (15)
Schneider Weisse Tap 6: Mein Aventinus (Kelheim, Germany) vs.
    (3) North Coast Old Rasputin (Fort Bragg, California)

    (1) Dogfish Head 90 Minute IPA (Milton, Delaware) vs.
    (2) Bell's Two Hearted IPA/Ale (Kalamazoo, Michigan)

Returning to WBAYDN with a third consecutive purple can, though this one more to my liking.

Well, this is finally a good beer today.
Doppelbock - Lupulin Brewing - Big Lake, MN/Sioux Falls, SD - 8% ABV

My rating is quite below the average on here. The reason for it is because the aroma is so lacking in my book. There's almost nothing there. The flavor makes up for the extreme lack of aroma, but it's still a big hit on my rating.

Dark brown pouring from the can. The beer has a ton of amber notes held up to the light, and looks somewhat clear. The head is 2 finger and tan colored. The bubbles are overall fairly small in the head, and it looks frothy. The head retention is quite decent, and there's a bit of lacing on the glass.
The nose is pretty minimal. Slight malt in this beer, with slight caramel. The aroma is a letdown.
The flavor is WAY better than the nose. I get a ton of caramel in the flavor. There's a good toffee hit in this beer as well. Slightly roasted flavor. There's a bit of bitterness on the backside, but is pleasing.
Decent body for the style. It seems full. There's a bit of a bubbly feeling on the backside.
While the aroma is lacking, the flavor makes up for it. Delicious.

Good afternoon, all! Blood donation day. I have to wait 16 weeks between donations, since they tap me for double red cells. I'm always fascinated by the apheresis machine, which separates the red cells from the whole blood and returns the plasma to me. It doesn't take much longer than a whole-blood donation, and they get two usable units of blood cells.

Of course, the post-donations are specific about no alcohol for the rest of the day. This Frank, Get In the Car imperial IPA from Gezellig Brewing is strictly for science. I'm always in search of the answer to the ultimate question of life: "What could possibly go wrong?" The answer to the question "How well does it pair with fish & chips?" has been answered already. (Splendidly!)

Flying to Denver for work, our little airport in South Bend (9 gates) has a nice little restaurant with 4 taps. One happens to be Wookey Jack, a fantastic black IPA from Firestone Walker. I’m so happy I could cry.
