Wow! for this to land in my lap a world class from the stellar @MutuelsMark !!!

Treehouse Brewing Doubleganger American Double IPA, 8.2% ABV; 4.92 overall :scream:

Pours a honey color, uber-hazy with 2+ fingers of pearl colored head. Rings of lacing & & stellar head retention

S: A riot of tropical fruit & citrus fruits, peach as well. Fades a bit down the stretch, green melon as well

T: Mango, passionfruit, tangerine, green melon & pineapple up front. Pink grapefruit once warmer, pineapple too along with passion fruit & guava; lime as well.

MF: Medium body, creamy carbonation, lovely balance & some acidity

Lethal drinkability, no flaws here, just minor distractions. A+ beer. Either my nose was off or just not quite there. Would go broke drinking this or perhaps trading it???

Alright, another one-- Turkish Bath Extra Pale Ale from Solaris Beer
    in Murietta, Calif.

For all the hops listed, this is quite restrained and perfectly drinkable. This could be one of several light beer styles, depending on the yeast. In any case it is crisp, light bodied, and highly thirst quenching. Modest green and herbal flavors without being fruity of citrusy. Very tasty with just a hint of bitterness in the aftertaste. No apparent date. Brewed with Crosby CH-112, El Dorado, Idaho 7, and Galaxy hops.

low-alcohol beer in the American IPA style • 9/8/2026 best-by date

Short version: This honestly might be the best American IPA I've ever had.

This beer solves my ABV problem with the style while still delivering all the hop flavor also typical of American IPAs. I get green onion and grapefruit peel and other American IPAish aromas and flavors with a hint of a malt backbone. It's a bit watery on the mouthfeel, and it has this one tiny flavor note that is synthetic or artificial, but overall, this N/A "beer" is fantastic considering it's not even 1% ABV.

Athletic Brewing Co. may be as good as the hype. This is my first go-round with them, and I must say as good as this version is, I'll definitely be trying more of their stuff in the future.

We have one less hour to celebrate New Beer Sunday #1098, but can still enjoy the day with more sun and fun. Back with my second Supermoon, this one a witbier.

This beer is chill and laid back like yesterday, though the flavors are a bit stronger in the flavor, enjoying the mouthfeel more. This is a solid witbier I'd pick up in the Spring to celebrate the warmer weather and increasing sun. Hope everyone has a great Sunday and upcoming week. Cheers!

    Much appreciated!

I'm stuck at work right now but as soon as I get home, I'm going to have this, very appropriate, dry-hopped pilsner from Amory's Tomb that I picked up over in MA yesterday:

Apparently, there's often doom metal playing from inside Amory's Tomb, which sounds like exactly my kind of place to drink a beer. I'm excited to visit them once it starts to get warmer again.

16 oz can into a barrel glass.
L: Pours darkest brown with a 2" big soapy beige head that slowly recedes to edge froth, low carbo, light random lacing.
S: Chocolate, vanilla, a hint of toffee, dark caramelization notes.
T: Light sweet dark chocolate, darkly roasted grains, a light hint of peanut skins, vanilla, a note of distant red grape skin. Chocolate notes are moderately robust.
F: Lightly brisk then a bit creamy & smooth full-bodied mouthfeel with a medium length slightly dry finish.
O: Gently sweet, great flavor and balance that leans chocolate and has a lovely finish. A superb level of vanilla, which is commonly abused and overused. I get a distant and fast-departing nutty sensation somehow with this brew. No trace of ABV. Quite tasty. It is excellent in its style.

From a 16oz can with no date on it.

This beer is just totally pitch black looking in my glass, with no chance of any light shining through. I have a 2 finger brown fluffy head in my glass. This head has great retention, but leaves no lacing on the glass.
I am getting pleasing dark chocolate notes on the nose. The dark chocolate has a nice richness to it. I also get a faint hint of smoke in this beer as well that adds a nice finish to my nose.
The flavor is a nice ride. I get dark chocolate up front. This gets added to in the middle by a nice hint of smoke. Finish is more dark chocolate plus a hint of licorice. There's a nice bitterness on the finish that ties all the flavors together well.
The body is very smooth feeling. There's a nice fullness to it. Nice smooth bitterness feeling, if that makes sense.
Wow, Hammerheart did it again, yet again. This beer is damn solid and delicious.

I am likely done with new beers this weekend. See you all when this virtual bar opens once again on Friday. Cheers!

Good day BAs! Last night I brought what was to be today's New Breakfast Beer from Reefer #1 into the house for today's NBW entry. Imagine my surprise when I looked it up and found I'd already posted it! So, I was forced to drink it while watching Rick and Morty.

    Today's true New Breakfast Beer:

Gratitude from East End Brewing. Four pack of12 fl oz cans, purchased 26/02/26 from Franklin Beer, Franklin, PA. $ 18.00/$ 0.375/fl oz. On room temperature shelf at distributor, stored at 40 degrees F at home. Reviewed 08/03/26, review 3701. Note that I use DD/MM/YY protocol.
Bottom of can is dated but too blurred to read. Served at 55.4 degrees F in a hand washed and dried Jester King snifter. The final temperature is 60.9 degrees F.
    Appearance – 3.5.
First pour – Medium Amber (SRM 12), clear.
Body – Deep Amber (SRM 15), opaque. Under direct light, medium amber with heavy precipitate. When rear-lit, orange amber and glows.
Head – Average (Maximum 3.2 cm, aggressive center pour). Apricot, high density, short duration; the head drops to a 0.3 cm crown fed by spotty carbonation, and a thin complete cap.
Lacing – Excellent! Multiple bands of near-microscopic bubbles which overlap, leaving rooms with tiny stalactites and stalagmites.
    Aroma – 3 - None.
Flavor – 3.25 – Slightly sweet with virtually no flavor. No malt, no hops, no alcohol (11.2 % according to the label). No dimethylsulfide or diacetyl. Moderate gastric warming.
Palate – 4 – Medium: Slightly syrupy: Soft carbonation.
Style: To my taste, doesn’t really follow the BA style description.
Final impression and summation: 3.25 Uncredited label art. Although basically odorless and tasteless, as it reaches the final temperature and end of the glass, a hint of lighter “dark fruit” trundles out, along with a weak caramel aroma.
    Rating 3.25, rDev -23%

Picked this big bottle up this weekend, opening for a New Beer Sunday review...

De Ranke Vielle Provision, 7% ABV.

Description: Vieille Provision is a preservation beer, made from a selection of the best barrels of aged beer in our brewery. The beer is the base for Cuvée De Ranke and Kriek De Ranke and has aged at least one year on oak barrels.

    A 2022 bottle...cap says expiration date of 2027

Pours a burnt orange color. A bubbly white head tries to form, but instead recedes to a ring that sticks throughout.
Aroma is sour fruits of grapefruit and lemon. Some caramel apple spice, and wood lingering.
Taste wise, like the nose, those sour fruits are up front and center. Pithy grapefruit, lemon and orange rind. Apple cider like, and a touch oak/woody with some vanilla sweetness. A tart acidity lingers, but its not over the top.
A medium body that is under carbonated, almost flat for me. Not hard to drink, especially for a not over the top sour.

I think more carbonation would put this over the top. I love that crisp and acidic bite with Wild Ales/Sours. Which is just missing here. Age could be a factor there, but no other obvious signs of oxidation. Anyway, still very enjoyable, even if it doesn't reach that excellent level for me.

    Overall score is 3.89, B+

Ancillary entertainment for the afternoon...I finally found it. I have completed the entire Ella Fitzgerald Song Book Series that started in the mid 50's. I have had Vol 1 of this set for many years, but I finally found Vol 2 of Fitzgerald Sings The Duke Ellington Songbook...which is the absolute last record I was missing that spans from Cole Porter to Jerome Kern, and more (all original pressings ha). About 20 LPS all together ha. Anyway, a good bottle to enjoy while spinning my songbooks

Nice one from New Trail. Could use a DDH treatment IMO

This is a nice enough NEDIPA with really nothing wrong per se, albeit it is missing a certain boldness that can be found in other New Trail DIPAs. Pour is at first husky with ample foam, but it resides from whence it came. Scents of NZ hops (floral, grapey, fruity), cantaloupe, and apricot are available. Sips showcase floral and fruity hop additions with orange, berry, cantaloupe, white grape, citrus and apricot being detected. Some rind can be found. There is no sign of booze as the body is full enough to keep it in check. Slightly viscous and fairly chewy. The whole affair can be described as a bit muted. Perhaps this can be bumped up to a DDH version, then this one could fly over a score of 4 easily. A good purchase nonetheless, as I enjoy Wai-iti and Mosaic hops

So, a little side track on my music obsession, if this is allowed ha. I also have "The Complete Ella Fitzgerald Songbooks" on CD, which is a 16 CD set...yeah I know, this is my problem not drinking ha. The remasters for the CD set is so sharp, the horns are just SOOOO up front and piercing, it gives you a headache. My dog treats it like a dog whistle ha. The original analog Mono mixing (that is for most of the OG vinyl, some of the later ones where stereo, but still great) is so perfect, you just can't improve on that. I mean the CD box set is "technically perfect" in a sense, but the originals are how you are suppose to listen to them, at least IMO

OK, back to beer reviews, sorry for the side rant

Good Sunday afternoon NBS/nbw and thanks to @Beersnake for hosting this week.
Just back from a slog of a hike this morning. We will experience the full affects of a classic melt this week.
Todays offering is one I read about, them happened upon.
What a nice, rich offering with fruit and earth in constant tension, love that aspect.
Also the acidity is dialed down, which I value

Poured from a very colorful bottle into the test glass
A - Honey colored backdrop, nice clarity, vigorous cabonation. A quick to leave cap of tight white froth is replaced with active archipelagos.
S - Sweet malts, green apple peel, oak, lemon zest, yarrow. Wet straw, with some warming there is a leather element.
T - Fruity with apple, pear, and green grape leading the way, Second sip pulls in the oaky, earthy elements, white peppercorn, and peach offer a great push and pull.
M - Mildly acidic, full and round on the palate, pleasantly dry
O - A great suprise, I read a few reviews and happened across this at a local store, Color me impressed at the depth and range of flavors. As it has a best by of 2034 I will get a few for the basement
