Over the past weekend I picked up a Unibroue sampler 12 pack which includes Ephemere. A nice wheat ale with apple flavor, never had it before but it wasn't too bad. Easy-drinking.

Captain Lawrence Golden Delicious is...well...delicious. It's a 10% Belgian-style ale brewed with apples and aged in rum barrels. It's not a style I generally lean towards, but it's a well crafted beer.

I've had Goose Island Fleur aged many years and I definitely got a big apple taste in that one too.

New Glarus Apple Ale is heavenly, certainly a must try. Their Serendipity also uses apples, and is probably my #1 favorite fruit beer. Both should be very easy to trade for.

The one other that comes to mind is Golden Delicious from Captain Lawrence, I believe it's a Belgian strong golden ale aged in apple brandy barrels. Didn't love it, but if you like apple brandy I'm sure it will be more up your alley than it was mine.

Do the Floris beers make it to the US? They're ever-present in Belgium, but I've never seen any here. That one isn't terrible, although (like all things Floris) it doesn't taste much like beer.

Anyway, Lindeman's makes an Apple lambic that tastes like a green jolly rancher.
New Glarus Apple Ale is absolutely divine and is the best apple beer I've ever had. Ephemere isn't bad, and Epic Sour Apple Saison can be good, even if it's inconsistent.

Redd's apple ale, regular or green apple. Goes down way to easy, and very refreshing. I keep them for in between other brews. Very astringent.

Horny Goat made a brown ale called Archer that had apple in it. It was just ok though.

I don't know whether they distribute to Ohio but the brewery is ubiquitous in NW PA. The beer is a fall seasonal but I imagine there is a lot of it still on store shelves.

Gonna be that guy and say this past fall, Redds was actually pretty good despite who makes it.

And if you are looking for something that tastes like a juicy apple and is thirst quenching, Shock Top Honeycrisp Apple is pretty good as well. Make sure to get all of the sediment into the glass to preserve the base wheat ale flavor, otherwise it is just straight apple.

I used to love that beer. But its actually so much apple flavor you can down it like juice.

You can buy Apple Beer at Smith's in Utah, it's pretty tasty.

    Cheers!
