I'm gonna go with Florida Cracker, I don't understand why that beer gets such mediocre ratings.

I LOVE Shock Top Lemon Shandy. I even like the "Belgian White" (lol) Shock Top and the Chocolate Wheat. The Shock Top line totally has some true swill in it though (Applecrisp, Honey Bourbon)

What is your definition of average? Some people here think that since all they drink is great beer, anything less than great is terrible. And average is worse. If you look at the rating scale here, "3" is average. I happen to think a beer that is average, or a 3, is a pretty good beer, and I'll happily drink it. Some folks here, however, wouldn't let anything less than a 4 past their royal lips.

Point being, how does a given individual define average?

I thought Sixpoint Sensi Harvest was fantastic. It's rating, while in the very good range (85), was much lower than I would have expected.

Oh man, the honey bourbon just about made me gag.

I'll chime in and say that I'd never turn down a corona - and nothing beats a cold pacifico with mexican food.

I think that was his point...how (what) do you (individual) define as decent while others may find it average due to ratings or discussions on this board..

I agree with your assessment on the rating scale, 3 is average and average is fine by me...I don't need to be blown away every time I have a brew. Most of the beers I drink fall in the 3 to 4 rating, with my top scale running at 4.25 - 4.5.

For the most part higher rated beers are the best in flavor profile and usually harder for me to get my hands on...creating a demand that creates a higher rating. I know it's not the most scientific way to rate a beer but as you stated it is all based on individual preferences anyway...cheers!

I drink plenty of "good" beers, but I still enjoy Bud Light.

I still drink Malt Liquors. That style of beer seems to be shunned on here. Yet, I still like to kill a Double Deuce or a Forty on a 4th of July cook-out. Hell, I'll even kill a Forty after a day driving in the snow. I'm not a complete beer snob.

I have no problem crushing Yuengling at family parties and when I was still living in NJ a case was only $17, can't beat that.

Not ashamed to admit I am a fan of Genesee Cream Ale.

Still think it would have made a great beer jingle if the Grateful Dead had sung, "Better get back to Genesee, Ted"
