Dogfish Palo Santo Marron was the first to come to mind. Though I've got high hopes for Millonario, which I'll be cracking open this week, so that may change my answer.

Wine, brandy/cognac, & most of the others listed here are all still oak......... with that said, cedar is very interesting. Thomas Creek had a cask night with their Coffee Oatmeal Stout cask aged on Spanish cedar, it was really different in a good way.

Well, I figured if we're counting Ola Dubh (scotch), the rye whiskey counts too. Both rye and bourbon (and scotch) are types of whiskey (whisky), but they are different in that the former must be distilled from at least 51% rye and the latter from 51% corn.

And the rye used for Rye-on-Rye (Templeton) is 90% rye, with the other 10% being barley.

You're going to be hard pressed to find many non-oak barrel aged beers. After all the OP mentioned Avery Rumpkin which according to Avery is "aged in fine fresh rum barrels to add suggestions of delicate oak and candied molasses."

I thought he meant aged in oak but not in bourbon barrels....OP, you can clear this up whenever you're ready....

I've asked Matt before, although I don't frequent nearly as much as I used to, and he's said probably not because of the cost of the barrels but he wanted to. So who knows? This was a while ago though and much like you despite the reviews I loved that beer.

They have tequila barrels for sure. For EBF they did the tequila barrel aged saison. I was told by Matt the same thing, but one of his buddys had a connection for the barrels through the store he works at and got them 3.

probably NEBCO redrum (rum barrel aged barleywine).

take your pick with clown shoes BA beers. hammer of the holy was amazing. billionaire.

islay wiskey barrel aged beers can be great. xyauyu from any kind of barrel is perfection or close. when it's a good bottle, port cask aged j.w. lees harvest ale is about as delicious as worldly things get.

edit: captain lawrence's imperial smoke from the oak set was really memorable, and the rum barrel aged one was the best.

heavy/dark beer with smoked malt + rum barrel = recipe for success.

I actually like some of the wine barrel stuff out there if it's paired in a way that works stylistically and blended well. Anchorage has killed it with a couple of those, and some from Mikkeller are nice. I'm also a sucker for Shmaltz and their use of rye whiskey barrels, among others.

Also, if you want something fantastically intriguing (though divisive), Mikkeller's tequila barrel Mexas Ranger is a very interesting beer.

I had Gubna in tequila a few months back. It was...interesting. Wouldn't be my first choice for a non-bourbon BA beer. I like the taste of tequila so it was fun for me to drink.

Jester King's Encendia was aged in mezcal.

Also, another vote for Prairie Wine Noir.
