It's October, which means that we're once again looking for exceptional breweries that opened in 2015 for our annual "Class of 20XX" feature. The article will appear in the January issue of BeerAdvocate magazine.

Please post suggestions below or send them to: [email protected] with "Class of 2015" in the subject line and a 1–2 sentence pitch as to why we should consider your proposed brewery.

Please note that more than 500 breweries have opened in the United States since the end of 2014, so while all nominations will be considered, we unfortunately can't include every suggestion in the mag.

    Thanks!

BLDG 8 in Northampton, MA just opened this year and puts the micro into Micro brewing. They do one beer and it is exceptional. It's called The IPA and comes in 16oz cans and is a perfect transition from east Coast to West Coast IPAs IMHO

I came here to nominate these guys.

They're doing what I think a new brewery should do, and that is perfect a few beers (in this case, one near perfect IPA) instead of trying to pump out 7-10 different styles on day one that end up being mediocre.

Kent Falls - every beer I have had from them has been above average and they have taken off in CT and the northeast. They make some outstanding IPAs and Saisons. Personal favorite of mine is Farmer's Table.

Every beer I had out of them has been pretty great, personal ratings ranging from 3.9-4.2. Very consistant in quality.

My personal opinion is that if only breweries opened in 2015 are eligible for this list, it isn't entirely accurate as I believe it can take more than a few months or just short of a year for a brewery to hit its stride and consistently produce good products or refine its products to where they want them to be. IMO a better parameter would be 'exceptional breweries that opened in the last 3 years'.

Yes, the main article will focus on the US, but throw in a few Canadian suggestions if you like—this might be the year we decide to add a sidebar for our northern neighbors. Lots of great beer up there, too.

I have a couple nominees from Colorado.
Spangalang brewery won a Gold Medal at GABF this year and I believe they have only been open a short time.
Weldwerks brewing is also very new and won a medal at GABF for a wheat beer (pretty crowded catagory?)

Copperpoint Brewing in Boynton Beach, Florida. Very solid brews, and from the conversation I had with the brewer (his name slips my memory), he's a veteran brewer with over 10 years experience that finally got to open his own spot. Very good variety of dynamite true-to-style beers, very cool tap room. A true gem in the growing Florida beer market.

Holy Mountain in Seattle, WA. They had a couple beers floating around in late 2014, but they didn't open their taproom until 2015. The first real Seattle brewery that focuses on barrel aging and wild fermentation. Pretty amazing stuff going on in Interbay.
