Have any breweries tried this at all? I figured it would be something that could possibly turn out really good if executed properly.

Sam Adams did for their holiday pack a few years ago. Was pretty good, nothing earth shattering.

I quite liked it. One of their better attempts at an IPA, and one of their better seasonal pack inclusions of recent times

Sierra Nevada made a Juniper Black Ale for their Beer Camp, but they haven't brewed it in like 5 years.. they should brew it again, it was awesome..

Mammoth Brewing's IPA 395 uses sage and juniper berries. It's a real love it or hate it brew.

Another mention for Rogue's Juniper Pale. Probably a top-5ish APA in my book.

Funny. That one was one of the very few beers I felt to be pretty good from Rogue. About 4-5 years ago for me was the one and only time I tried it.

Agreed. I have two in the fridge now along with Mammoth's Blondibock, Elderberry Sour, Charley's Revenge, and the Anniversary Brett Ale. They've stepped up their game IMHO in the last few years.

Good IPA could taste the juniper in the back taste.

I love gin, a juniper IPA would be the tits if done right.

Here's another one from Short's. (Who else does such great things with experimental beers?) It's called Melt My Brain, and is intended to be a gin and tonic wannabe. It has juniper berries, coriander, limes and tonic water. Short's took a silver medal at this year's GABF in the experimental beer category with this one. https://www.shortsbrewing.com/short-s-brings-home-silver-2015-great-american-beer-festival/ It's on the bottling schedule for 2016. Should be an interesting experience to drink this one.
