Saison Day (April 14, 2021)

In other words, today?

 

Darn I just made a beer run yesterday and didn’t stock any saisons. However I did visit Jester King last week while on vacation in Texas and had a few options so At least I contributed to saison love recently. Oh and anyone visiting Austin area...Jester King is a great brewery visit, So glad I could squeeze it in.

I'm already having lunch with some Irish cheddar w/ wiskey and SM's Taddy porters (sourbread included).

Both of the breweries I intend to visit tonight happens to have a saison on tap. Sounds like I may have my order picked now!

 

Saison Dupont sitting at 92 and Hennepin not cracking top 100 is kind of sad.

 

As I left the house, I asked my partner in crime what to get, and she chanted "I. P. A." repeatedly. At the store, my hand lingered over a six pack of Tank 7, but I passed.

If only I had known what today was!

 

Can't even find Hennepin close to my house. I had to travel 60 miles, both ways (120) to buy a case this past Sunday. Du Pont has also gotten scarce and hard to find.
Just Like the "Old Days" someone should open a store to sell what we used to call "good beers".
BTW, after I finished "lunch" (see my earlier post) I went outside (90º F) to do some yard work and now I need something refreshing, so I opted for a Hennepin.

I've been waiting a couple of years, at least, for Henhouse to produce their coffee saison, Fresh Pots! again. Today was the day they finally released it.

I ironically just picked up a saison today, what perfect timing!

 

The panel has been very interesting and informative so far, and I'm enjoying it with a classic.

This is one of those beers for me that I only have once in a while, but then literally every time I have one, I think to myself "damn, I should have this more often." Sigh.

 

Cracked a homebrew mixed ferm multi-grain saison. Great discussion on the farmhouse style, I could watch for hours. Happy Saison Day!

Wolf's Ridge Slate Run saison

 

Hooray Saison time! Neat twist going for a solid West Coast style IPA hop angle.

My local is pumping out the saisons since winning that gold medal GABF what can I say.

Drinking my last couple Allagash saisons from the fridge today starting with the regular Saison aged a year, nice cereal grain taste, toasty hay, stone fruits, citrus, peppery clove spice, dry and refreshing


and '17 Dawnlander amber saison ale, nice smoked malt taste, lightly tart pears, apricot, fruity esters, mild citrus, pineapple, oats, rye grain, spice, refreshing
