At one time I was on a quest to try all the Beers of Fame, but I have since given up. I've definitely had more from the Bottom of the List. Guess I need to start reviewing more AALs!

The lists are based off of a weighted rank that takes the number of reviews for the beer into account. The formula is at the bottom of the page.

It has not been easy chasing down the top beers. For example in Feb I flew to Boston for EBF, next weekend went to San Diego for the Modern Times Festival and than the following weekend was a beer festival in town. Beer of Fame has a lot of Belgium beers which I don't enjoy thus my lower number.

I'm sure I've had beers on both lists but looking all that stuff up and doing numbers would cut into my drinking time.

    Top: 8
    Fame: 10
Bottom: 6 - it's probably more - but I'm a little HAZY on college beers.....hazy! ya get it!

I don't keep track on this site, but off the top of my head, I've had several of the Top 250, even more of the BoF, and several of the bottom of the list. That's precise enough for me. I see no need to chase beers that aren't and never will be available in my area. I'm happy just trying the good beers that come my way.

On another note, anyone who says they've had 0 of the bottom 100 has to be lying. You've never had a Budweiser? Miller Lite? Come on...

On a related note, I feel several of the bottom beers do not deserve to be so low. Budweiser and Miller Lite aren't the worst in style. Hell, some NA "beers" were rated higher! And to call Natty Light the worst beer in the world is a bit crazy, in my mind.

The only list that matters is the one you create for yourself & your preferences. ;-)

There's only been a few, and I mean FEW "whales" that really fit the hype for my palate at least.

*How aren't Westy 12 and Fou' Foune in the top 10 any more?!?!?! They are easily the top two beers I've tried
**Probably would be higher if more people around me reviewed Tired Hands instead of quick rating
***Probably more like 15-20 given my drinking in college, but only reviewed 3 since joining BA

I didn't mention counting I mentioned numbers. The OP asked "how many" and to me that's numbers.
