I'm taking a trip up to Vermont and I really want to know where the prime area to stay in that is close to some of the good beers, I know Alchemist releases a update when their Heady goes out, but i have seen people bring back a lot of other good stuff. So really I want to know where I can stay so that I'm close to places where I can buy some good stuff?
I've stayed twice at the Old Stagecoach Inn in Waterbury, you can walk easily to Prohibition Pig, Black Back, and such. 3 Penny Tap Room maybe 30 minutes away. HF on taps, HT, Lawson's all right there.
Have you considered looking through the regional forums? http://www.beeradvocate.com/community/threads/vermont-trip.307392/ http://www.beeradvocate.com/community/threads/stopping-in-vermont-for-bottles.314820/
Depends on who you are traveling with and how much you wish to spend. There is anything from fine living to camping available.
Best western Waterbury works well for the bars in Waterbury. You can walk (there's a sidewalk on the road but it's a fairly busy street and about a mile walk. I personally love the walk after a night in the bars but I'm sure not everyone would agree) I've also stayed in Stowe in the past, but I'd suggest a DD Maybe someone could suggest something in Montpelier or Burlington, I'd imagine those would be pretty great alternatives as well
Priceline has some great deals on Burlington Hotels. Stage Coach Inn in Waterbury is within easy walking distance of the great bars and the prices are OK- and even better when you consider the fact that breakfast is included. They have a two night minimum stay on weekends which is tough to get around (but I have twice).
Its up in the air I was thinking Burlington only because the days I was going I planned on trying for HT at two of the stores, but I heard Waterbury is good too because its a short distance to walk to the bars.
If you've got a car I'd say drive to burlington for heady and stay in waterbury. the 3 main bars in waterbury are awesome and it's totally worth it to stay there
I would do the Stagecoach Inn, I just had points that I was going to redeem for the hotel room and I can't seem to find anything in Waterbury that is connected with Choice Hotel = \
I actually seen the Econolodge on 101 Northfield St., Montpelier, VT, 05602, US, this is only 17 mins from Waterbury and 39 mins from Burlington, we might have a winner
if you dont stay in Waterbury you are doing it wrong... just my 2c I know using your miles will save money but staying in Waterbury and not worrying about a DD is work the $ for a hotel room
Oh I definetly understand that, but the dates were going there is nothing available the closet I could get to Waterbury was 17 mins away
I thought so but I had to do it around the Mrs. schedule, so we changed it to August 23rd to August 26th
