I know that is quite a spread, but my parents just moved down to Clarendon, NC from outside of Philadelphia and its not a totally unreasonable drive to either Wilmington or Myrtle Beach. Any good breweries or local shelf beers I should keep my eye out for?

Hey!Beer is a great bottle shop in Wilmington; they go all over NC to get beer that doesn't get distro to the coast, so it's a great place to shop. Personally, I drink a lot of Burial (Asheville), Oskar Blues (Brevard) and Wilmington Brewing Company.

Just tried a couple of beers from Newgrass in Shelby, Fiddler's Dream (IPA) and Fiddler's Nightmare (IIPA), and they were both ace.

nothing worth it in MB. New South is basic unless they have some lily variant on at the brewery.

I second New Anthem in Wilmington.

New Anthem and WBC are definite must stops, but since you'll be downtown checking out New Anthem anyway- don't sleep on Flytrap. They won't have any hazy IPAs, but their sours and saisons are fantastic!
