Anybody else getting bad bottles around here? I got some from Specs that tasted a little skunky so I got some from Spankys and it was exactly the same if not worse. Makes me wonder if maybe it wasn't skunky but something else that resulted in a similar bad taste.
What do you mean skunky? Skunk means that it is light struck, not off flavors. There are at least a few thread about this already, but I have never heard that it is skunked? That is NOT the same thing as what others are talking about, but also not saying it can't possibly be light struck, just don't think that is the issue. http://www.beeradvocate.com/community/threads/lone-pint-yellow-rose-bottle-dates.253053/ http://www.beeradvocate.com/community/threads/when-does-lone-pint-yellow-rose-get-released.257933/
Yes, it's the light struck/skunk taste, but it's just a milder version of it than I've seen. It just seems strange that multiple places have it simultaneously. I guess maybe it happened at the distributor or higher level which seems fairly unlikely to me. Was just wondering if anyone else in the area had picked up any like this. Sounds like those other guys are talking about old beer. This is not old. It has all the full flavors, just that putrid skunky right on top.
My local Specs has had three cases on the floor for a few weeks. I bought one yesterday to see how it is. I agree, most people don't care about dates that much, but it would be nice for beer nerd types.
