Whilst Winter Fades

Whilst Winter Fades is all about accentuating the bright, earthy components of Sunken Buoy Pilsner by nearby Fort George Brewery and Public House. The rye and maple work together to liven the spicy and floral components of this Fort George one-off. Drink this cocktail while wishing farewell to the winter past and greeting spring with a toast to all of its possibilities.

2 oz Fort George Sunken Buoy Pilsner (or another Pilsner, like Lagunitas Pils or Great Divide Nomad)
2 oz rye whiskey
1 oz lemon juice
1/2 oz birch syrup (or maple syrup)
1/2 oz egg white
1 dash black walnut bitters

Combine all ingredients except bitters, and shake vigorously for 45 seconds. Add ice, and shake 10 times. Strain into a goblet and allow cocktail to rest for 30 seconds. Garnish with bitters. ■
