Collaboration with Modern Times Beer

A fun collaboration with our friends at Modern Times. This hoppy lager is brewed with white grape juice, key lime, and guava! Light bodied and medium carbonation with citrus and tropical notes. Aromas of guava, key lime, and lemongrass. Refreshing with a gentle bitter finish.

A: crystal clear; straw colored; 1 finger white head that receded quickly to a wispy cap with a thin collar; no lacing;

S: guava and key lime;

T: balanced between grape juice, key lime, and guava;

M: light bodied; moderate carbonation; moderately dry finish;

O: sort of a combination between a lager and a fruited sour; maybe too much going on; dropped the score a bit because it's supposed to be a hoppy lager and there's almost no sign of hops;

to itrusy- makes beer more carbonated - too many flavors - so much citrus tate can't pick up the malt or hops

16oz can served in a sample glass. Part of the Untappd virtual beer festival event.

Pours a very light yellow. Very clear, small head, not much carbonation after the pour. Smell is mild, floral forward, a little honeysuckle and some lager/yeast funk.

Taste is more lager/yeast, a confusing blast of fruit dominated by something lemony but also with something tropical.

Mouthfeel is very light and crisp. Overall, it's pretty good.

Pours a mostly, but not completely, clear light golden color. Nice three finger sudsy head shows decent retention. Head eventually dissipates leaving just a splotch of sudsy white foam.

Aroma has notes of white grapes, white wine, a touch of guava, and a grain. As it warms that white grape/wine aroma really takes over.

Taste is dominated by the white grape juice. Some milder notes of guava and citrus come through. Underneath all that a grainy malt base peeps through. Moderately bitter hops on the back are noted. Somewhat sweet from the fruit.

Feel is light to medium bodied, moderately carbonated. Semi-dry finish.

Overall its a unique beer for sure. Its not bad, I just personally didn't care for the way the white grape/guava worked with the base lager.

16oz canned (looks like) 2/21/20. Opened 6-13-20 @ UNTAPPD Virtual Beer Festival.
1 finger white head with very good retention, holds fast at a solid cap. Good lacing.
Pale golden, slightly hazy at least initially. Remains hazed but is bright in general.
Tangy, bright Sauvignon Blanc/Riesling nose, lime is evident. Diesel. Tropical. Grassy, weedy hops (?) under it all.
Zesty grape juice, key lime, the added fruit is dominant but the malt base is clean and tasty.
Light body, medium-high carbonation. Clean, close to crisp with a hoppy finish.
Unique beer with vibrant flavors.
Very Good.

16oz can tasted during the Untappd Virtual Beer Festival.

Super pale yellow with a decent head and lace. Very light and creamy. Clean, semi-tropical nose. Tart and fruity with white grape, key lime, guava, rind, and some crackery malts in the back. Finishes a bit dry.

This is a weird one. While the fruitiness overpowers any signs of this being a lager, let alone a "hoppy lager," this is an interesting offering that's worth a try.

Pours slightly hazy pale straw yellow with a creamy frothy white foam head. Smells like fresh white grapes, vinous white wine notes, tropical melon, lychee, pineapple, guava, key lime, citrusy dankness, snappy lemongrass, herbal dank earthy floral pine, with some underlying crackery malt. Tastes crisp and clean, fruity, zippy, refreshing, a little malty, hoppy, providing notes of fruity white wine, tropical guava, key lime, white grapes, melon, citrus, some lemongrass, dank herbal earthy floral pine, biscuity toasty crackery malts, hints of vanilla, bread crust, finishing dry with lingering key lime pie notes. Feels medium bodied, crisp with moderate smooth carbonation. Overall a nice and interesting hoppy lager with white grape juice, key lime and guava.

A: The beer is slightly hazy light yellow in color and has a light amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a quarter finger high white head.
S: Moderate aromas of white grapes are present in the nose along with hints of lime.
T: The taste follows the smell, except that the flavors of limes are a tad bit stronger.
M: It feels a bit more than light-bodied and clean on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This lager was very easy to drink and I really enjoyed the aromas and flavors of the white grape juice.

Had on tap. Cloudy bright golden body with two fingers of white foam. Smell is what I want: grape complete with gentle must, key lime, guava, citrus hops and a breadiness that plays well with others. Taste is a relative disaster: must is huge with hops, dry crusty bread and a weird tropical key lime attempted finish. Nope. Caught in the middle of everything good so tastes like nothing good, appeasement the beer. Feel is hoppy, bready, but then gets watery quickly.

Nice easy drinking beer. Light hoppy flavor and some mustiness from the grapes, not too sweet. Really nice crisp dry finish. Would be perfect on a warm day
