Showcasing two powerhouse hops - Citra and Mosaic - and a new hop variety called Talus. At 7.2% ABV, this classic, clear, clean IPA has notes of sweet orange, tropical punch, passion fruit, and a pinch of cedar woodiness. Crack open a can and find refuge in a Summer Oasis.

Glass: Melvin 14-oz. Spiegelau IPA glass
Price: $14.99 for a 6-pack
From: Windmill Farms in Del Cerro (San Diego), Calif.
Purchased: May 27, 2022
Consumed: May 27, 2022
Misc.: Canned on May 16, 2022 at 8:14 a.m. PT
Grabbed a 6-pack of this on a recent trip to Windmill Farms. Pizza Port’s website called it a “Showcasing two powerhouse hops - Citra and Mosaic - and a new hop variety called Talus. This classic, clear, clean IPA has notes of sweet orange, tropical punch, passion fruit, and a pinch of cedar woodiness. Crack open a can and find refuge in Summer Oasis.”
Poured a medium yellow color with four fingers of rocky white head. Could see some bubbles coming up from the bottom of the glass. World-class uneven foamy lacing. Perfect foamy retention. (Sight - 4.75)
Smelled Mosaic, Citra, floral, cotton candy, Hawaiian Fruit Punch, passion fruit, lesser Talus, oak, grapefruit and pine. Much better out of the can. (Smell - 3.75)
Tasted about as good as the nose. In order got Talus, wood, oak, floral, Mosaic, dish soap, grapefruit, Citra, cotton candy, Hawaiian Fruit Punch, passion fruit and woody pine. (Taste - 3.75)
Medium body. Creamy texture. Lively carbonation. Long, bitter, soapy finish. (Feel - 3.75)
This was about what I should’ve expected from a Pizza Port West Coast IPA. Wanted more with Citra, Mosaic and Talus involved but it was just very good. (Overall - 3.75)

Pint can poured into a snifter glass. The Summer Oasis pours a clear copper with a definitive green wheat character. A thin cap of whitish foam lingers briefly before reducing to a light film.
Nose of oniony hops seems to be in style for Pizza Port but not really to my liking. More complex than other offerings from them but still limited. Initially dank but that recedes quickly, touch of tropical fruit.
Taste offers more citrus, touch of woody character. Fairly rich and chewy in the feel department. Decent feel but not offering much bitterness or character. Too chewy and onion notes detract, cotton ball mouth feel lacks brightness.

Can poured into a Mountain Rambler Brewery pint glass
A: Pours golden yellow with a frothy pale tan head that settles to a firm layer and laces nicely.
S: Stone fruit, floral notes, tropical fruit and citrus, woodsy pine, bready malt, and caramel sweetness.
T: Floral, nice mix of ripe citrus, tropical and stone fruit, mango, papaya, orange, lemon lime, peach, apricot, grapefruit, and passion fruit, some spicy pine, subtle woodsy notes, a hint of coconut, bready malt, and caramel sweetness.
M: A touch on the fuller side of medium body, moderate carbonation.
O: A little heavier than I'd prefer, but it'd make a killer beach bonfire beer.

Clear yellow brew in the Affligem chalice with plenty of foam. Fragrant with citrus and cedar. Lush and sparkling mouthfeel. Malty and rich with some pleasant sweetness. Lime peel and orange taste, hints of pineapple and peach.
Big and flavorful with a distinct but moderate bitterness. Tastes strong. This is one of my favorites of this never-ending series of excellebnt West Coast IPAs. From the 16 oz can purchased at the supermarket. Dated 06/03/22.

Packaged on 5/18/22 - consumed on 6/22/22. Poured from a tall-boy can into my Dogfish Head shaped pint glass.
Brilliantly clear amber body with a small ivory head receding to a thin collar and uneven surface slick. Sticky lacing, good retention.
Grapefruit, orange zest, green apple, longan, roses, and kiwi in the nose. Mild, inviting, fruit-forward aromatics.
Flavors are similar to the nose with moderate minty bitterness throughout. Soft, clean malt flavor with a hint of caramel. Fairly dry finish. Neutral yeast. Perfectly balanced, with Citra/Mosaic/Talus all contributing something interesting.
Medium-bodied, well carbonated, slightly oily yet still refreshing.
Excellent balance in this "west coast" style IPA, more than the sum of its parts.

This one is deep. It has elements. It has character like James Cagney tap dancing and holding a heater at the same time. It sings to me, but it is also silent. It lets me know that’s it’s there, but there is nothing bombastic about it. Beautiful tropics meet resin like your first toke after cleaning your bong.

Canned 05/13/22. Like their other “seasonal” IPAs, this is the clean base West Coast IPA that they’re known for with some proper hop varieties to switch things up. Very dry, piney and dank, with some tasty fruity hops in the feel and finish.
