Copenhagen 25/6 2021. 33 cl bottle from Kihoskh, Sønder Boulevard, Kbh. V. Drawing of a canal where very red lady is towing a barge.

Pours opaque hazy yellow with a mid-sized, dense, white head. Stable. Settles as 2 cm thick layer of foam covering the surface of the beer. Substantial lacing.

Aroma is medium intense with a light sweet fruity odor mingling with a stronger tart sour scent. Yeasty touch. Sweet malts with a streak of peach. Lemongrass and tart gooseberries. Whiff of barnyard.

Light carbonation. Slightly thick, oily, lightly tingling texture.

Flavor is medium intense with a medium strong sweetness followed by a slightly stronger tart bitterness. Aftertaste is a bit thin. Tart and bitter. Lingers for a bit. Finish is semi-dry.

Elegant and tart. Good one.

De La Senne holds a special place in the hearts of most Euro-Saison Heads (like me, but I credit StonedTrippin' with the term.) Because short term memory (and more mid-term as I age) evades me, I can't be definitive and say that every Saison De La Senne brews is masterful; but it sure seems that way. Same goes for their other Belgian Pales. Call them the most consistently interesting, tho not necessarily the most consistently best.

Bruwer is interesting in that it follows De La Senne's pattern of fluffy foam followed by unique aromas and Tastes followed by a medium-mouth, but soft. It's the uniqueness in between that is interesting, and harder to describe. My best shot is this: Bruwer is peppery and yeasty and fruity and full; then finishes dry.

Would I like more? Just watch me.

A - Pours the classic cloudy pale Lemon colour with a thick White head that stays the distance and laces.
S - Big spicy aromas of hop and yeast and hemp. Quite pungent horse blanket also
T - Oh nice flavours of hops, barnyard grains and some brett in there as well. The finish is long and dry. Very tasty
M - Perfect - Medium body and carbonation
O - Well I can add this to my list of benchmark Saisons and it rightfully sits alongside Dupont and Fantome. Awesome beer.

Bottle: Poured a golden color ale with a super large white foamy head with good retention and some excellent lacing. Aroma of spicy yeast notes with some peppery notes with some rustic malt and dry Brett ester. Taste is a nice mix of rustic malt notes with some spicy and peppery yeast notes, some dry herbal hops notes with a super dry finish. Body is quite full with excellent carbonation. World-class saison that is a mix between Orval and Dupont.
