Served in a tasting snifter.
Overall: sour, balanced, brown reddish color.
Although I haven't had the regular version but you get the faint plums/prunes smell.

Of Note: This is different then Sour in the Rye with Beach Plums.
Appearance: Very murky and dirty looking. The brown base mixed with the purple from the plums does not make a good combo for the appearance. That being said, don't judge a book by its cover.
Armoa: Very acidic smelling. There are plenty of wild yeast/bacteria in this one. The same SitR malt and aroma as before but more acidic with a hint of stone fruit.
Taste: Much more sour then the base sour in the rye. There is a huge amount of acidity in this one. There is some subtle sweetness coming from the plums to cut through it but the sour/acidity is very strong. This is among the most acidic/sour beers I've had. I'd compare its level of acidity to Very Sour Blackberry.
Mouthfeel: Thinner then you would expect but still very good. Excellent carbonation.
Overall: This is a very good beer. I would not choose this beer all the time over the base of sour in the rye due to how acidic/sour it is but is a good one to occasionally have. I suggest getting at least a taster if you are in the tasting room and it's on.
