Had this one in a flight at the Bruery. Big Loakal Red fan, maybe my favorite red ale ever, so it was a no brainer pick.
Brings the usual red appearance with good clarity for a beer of such color, 1/2" off white head. Aroma seems just like the regular Loakal Red, can't tell any difference with the purported doubling of the dry hopping. I think its always been Centennial hops and seems no different here. Still has the notes of wood from the actual wood and the way Centennial rolls.
Taste is still delicious, but for me its kind of a diminishing return on this, there just isn't anything discernably different with this double dry hop. But hey, still awesome. The hopping blasts through the heavier malt, doesn't have the trappings of most red ales. Pine, orange and oak.
Have they even made Loakal Red lately? I haven't had it in awhile, which is ashame. Maybe next year they'll have their anniversary party not on the same weekend as the Derby and I'll check it out.

On tap at The Bruery in Placentia, CA.
Pours a hazy orange-red with a foamy bone head that settles to a film on top of the beer. Foamy streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, citrus fruit, citrus zest, and tropical fruit aromas. Taste is much the same with citrus zest and tropical fruit flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of hop bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp and medium bodied mouthfeel. Overall, this is a good beer that is tasty and easy to drink.
