August 2015 trip to the Bruery. Legendary stuff.
Pours a hazy yellow similar to the OG Hottenroth. Still has that bright white head 2/3". Aroma hits all the stuff it should, wheat, lemon tart, strawberry and vanilla. I'm tellin' ya, the system works.
Taste, damn they nailed it. Still has all the lip smacking lemonwheatgrass sour mash tartness, but there is plenty of strawberry quick like notes alongside a beautiful vanilla addition. How did they make this both vanilla smooth, strawberry sweet but dry, and lemon tart berliner levity at the same time? Amazing. Not only am I disappointed they don't make Hottenroth anymore, but man this would be so awesome if it could be packaged for cans/bottles. Has so many juxtapositioned things that work so damn good. Strawberry is notoriously difficult to work with, but it did amazingly well here in the finished product. The other fruited hottenroths were all letdowns, but this was a shining example of something possibly better, if that is possible.

On Tap at the Bruery. Really great version of Hottenroth. Strawberry and Vanilla really come through while remaining tart and refreshing. Flavors just right in balance, worth seeking out.
