On tap, served in a willi becher glass. Pours a medium hazy orange body, one finger white head, good retention, bits of lacing. Smells of tropical fruit, citrus and a mild grainy malt sweetness to it. Not particularly complicated, but it is fairly aromatic. Flavour is a nice citrus and tropical fruit; mango and papaya; mild caramel sweetness backs things up, but this is a fairly assertive hop-forward beer. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, good carbonation, creamy with a nice smooth tropical fruit finish. An aromatic pale ale with a nice mouthfeel and not too much malt to it- I think this is a very solidly executed pale ale in the New England vein. I think they should continue experimenting with this one.

I can't recall another offering from the Bruery similar to this. There isn't a shred of malt, which I enjoy. The color is a yellow, not orange with perfect head. The smell is a bit off but when tasted the smell shines through of pine, hops, tropical fruits and lemon. Definitely a good drinking brew and it's nice to have one non sour or big beer offering when I head into The Bruery to pick up allocations.

On tap at The Bruery in Placentia, CA.
This one pours a pretty murky and hazy yellow, not quite as good looking as some of the style.
It smells like peach, grapefruit, slight pine, and mango.
It does not exactly seem like The Bruery is incredibly adept at the NE style of hoppy beer. This is the better of the two I tried, though. It's got a really nice fruit flavor- peach and mango, and some typical grapefruit. There's a miniscule level of bitterness. The flavors don't exactly scream out of the glass, unfortunately.
This is soft, slight watery, with a lower level of carbonation.
It's cool that they're trying this style of beer, but they should just stick with Humulus.
