This is a hoppy pale ale with coconut. Pours hazy, lighter shade of yellow to it, soft white head, 2/3" good retention. Aroma was not what I expected, there was this phenolic Belgian like aspect to it. Instead of getting hops or coconut, it was more like what you would expect in a tripel or a hefeweizen even, phenolic spice rack kind of.

In the taste it just continued with the not much coconut or hops kind of disappointment. This beer didn't really work on any level for me. Well I guess the pale ale, the light pale toasted pale malts, they didn't do anything wrong to me. But the lack of hops is disappointing in a pale ale, and the lack of adjunct that is supposed to be there is just as upsetting. I've noticed there are times when Bruery just eats shit on a pale ale, I dunno what their deal is, like Grant is Pale sucked and now this.

On tap at the Bruery. "Hoppy ale w/ coconut" is the only other brewer information.

Straw hued with hints of golden amber. Slightly hazy with a white, fluffy head rising an inch or so high and then quickly receding to a thin, scattered layer. Little lacing.
Smell is slightly tropical in a fairly generic way. Some earthy, yeasty notes are present as well.
Flavor brings subtle notes of pineapple, some floral citrus, a nuanced coconut, and a slightly gritty, earthy, yeastiness.
Mouthfeel is lite, moderate carbonation.
Overall, I don't know if I would have picked up the coconut had I not known about it. The hops are rather subdued as well.
