On tap at the Bruery.
Pours a deep brown. A truly beautiful tan head forms finger os so high initially, then settles to form an elegant, milky, pond scum like layer that stays along for most of the ride.
Nose beckons with a decadent blend of maple and cinnamon. So smooth, rich, but not overly sweet. Pastry stout indeed.
Flavor comes through with a subdued maple note, cinnamon, and a slight coffee roast that seems to hold back the maple. It's tasty, but doesn't follow the nose near as much as I'd like.
Mouthfeel is medium, slightly active carbonation. Finish is slick.
Overall, a tasty pastry stout. If the Bruery could get this one closer to the nose, it's be a homerun.
