On tap at the Bruery.
BBA Barleywine on a Randall, with toasted walnuts and cacao nibs.
Deep brown in color. Almost no head, but the ring of bubbles that hangs on is sandy in color. Almost no lacing.
Smell is smooth caramel notes, earthy black walnut brings a dry, almost tannic note, and a slight toasted note finishes.
Taste is definitely the sweet ride of Mash coupled with the walnut notes. I don't pick up any notes from the cacao nibs.
Mouthfeel is medium. Carbonation doesn't make itself known.
Overall, I'd like the cacao to show up, but for lovers of walnut, you'll pick enjoy the nose and the flavor.
